More than one million downloads in less than two days is not bad at all

sgunhouse 23. September 2005, 00:43

And we still have a forum, and you a server to boot.

If we hit 5 million in a week, will Jon swim to the moon? :D

saito 23. September 2005, 13:47

I feel safe and happy to read "a dry and landlocked Jon".

Next swim? Please postpone till Opera gets second largest browser share, in the near future

Rapier 23. September 2005, 14:41

Opera should have a download counter or some sort !

jakob 23. September 2005, 15:15

Can we get a counter on my.opera.com logins at least?

paavor 23. September 2005, 19:08

So, no one is swimming? :eyes: Congratulations anyway!

haavard 23. September 2005, 20:22

Have a look at www.opera.com, goffer.

Northgrove 23. September 2005, 21:02

I must admit 2 million downloads over 2 days was better than I had expected. I hope the download rates keep holding up for a while longer. A browser of this quality really deserves it.

toughthrone 24. September 2005, 04:02

Skippermark 25. September 2005, 04:31

I was always curious about Opera but never tried it because of the price. Now that it's free, I had to get it and am more amazed at it's power each day. I only wish I'd tried it earlier.

SuSE UsER 26. September 2005, 08:28

2.1 Million Downloads (and counting)

WildEnte 26. September 2005, 09:54

2.1 million only from the opera servers or are download.com et al. included in this figure?

d3bruts1d 26. September 2005, 10:25

Not bad at all. I know I managed to get a few people to download it and try it out. Being free has really helped.

tmaioli 26. September 2005, 18:02

2.2 Million Downloads and just 22 comments? Well, I used opera in the past but became a Firefox user, the ads no matter how small is just too much. Now that the ads are gone and I gave it a second chance, NOT BAD at all..... Looks like a lot of improvements since way back when. Nice job. I like what I see so far. I'm sure there is a model for you to make money, ads in the browser - not it, involve the community, make it a movement, a quality product, the money will come. Focus on the product and the customer needs and you will be profitable, just focus on money and you will be the next Enron.

hsaito 27. September 2005, 00:42

Opera is really catching on for visitor of my webpages.
On one site, it is now getting around 28% of share.

(Visitors of my website is quite biased, that usually IE is around 50% and then it used to be Firefox that dominated the rest.)

In one website where most audiences are from Japan, is now getting 1.8%, which is about twice as it used to be.

reincarnut 27. September 2005, 04:28

like i say, the question is not why someone would download opera, the question is why anyone wouldn't! :-)

:spock:

anotherpyr 27. September 2005, 16:44
