Summertime

Summer is approaching, and (some of) the My Opera team members will go on a much needed vacation. So far, this year has been really good. We've successfully managed to reduce downtime (a lot!) and improving our service for you. Besides that, we've also had two major product releases, namely Opera 9.5 and Opera Mini 4.

Currently, we're busy working on a release which will lay the foundation for many new features we aim to implement. We expect to have most of it done in September, hopefully.

A work in progress which we hope will drive My Opera forward is localization. We hope this will make more people aware of our service, especially in regions where English is not widely known, and thus continue spreading the word about Opera. Currently we're working on localizing My Opera into the following languages:

Simplified Chinese
Norwegian (hey, we all speak English, but we're a Norwegian company, so...)
Italian
Spanish
Japanese

And many more will follow later...

Besides working on translations, we're also looking into improving storage solutions, optimizing code, revamping and adding new features to the photo albums section, adding feeds to a brand new page, cleaning up and fixing old bugs, etc. Last time I checked, our lead Web designer had made some serious funky changes to My Opera's new look and feel.

Opera Stickers

Oh yeah, one more thing... We have received a fresh batch of Opera stickers you can grab hold off. They're very shiny and a perfect fit for your laptop, forehead, etc.

Simply send me a message (with "Opera stickers" as "Competition answer") if you're interested and we'll send you a few.

All good and well and I am waiting for this like the rest of the My Opera community, but guys - when will you stop neglecting a whole market segment - the BiDi (or RTL) segment?

My Opera has poor support for this, be it in the forums or blogs.
(I know you have open bug reports, but you had those for more than two-three years now...)

I wish I'd be in Norway too because it's already so hot here in Vienna - I'd love a little less sun down here.

Looking forward to the new features - and yes, moving photos between albums while keeping comments would be great! But I know what it's like to have a feature & bug list several kilometers long

so I'll thank you anyway!

i've been spreading opera forever!
these stickers on my gear would finally make it official

plus the extra ones would come in handy.
and i love all the new faetures being added...

Too bad i didn't particapte in the tell a friend contest, but thats because i do it over the phone / in real life, never on a facebook group or what not. maybe next time.

and all these amazing new features are looking better than ever guys! especially when you've been using opera for about 3 years. (my uncle... who, by the way, works at microsoft.... recomended it to me when i was a kid, so ive just kind of grown up on opera, lol)

oh yeah, and happy summer to you guys too!

i hope the opera photo albums get an edith feature kinda thing.... or download albums from facebook/flikr... i could use so much! mind you, i love the current system though, it has got ecards and everything. Myopera community is so amazing, blogs and everything. i just wish more people knew about this, i have used windows live spaces, blogger, and coutless others... but nothing compared. gj guys! (i know that was completely unrelated but you know... when ur gunna blabber on about the photo alubums... might as well go on about the whole community. hehe)

anyways. for the competition form... it donest ask your province/state anywhere. is that the way its supposed to be?
