Five stars!!! This would be good in brushed aluminum or some other lighter color.

vespesian 1. November 2005, 02:22

Excellent skin.

lazza 1. November 2005, 05:59

Superb! Clear button colouring that contrasts nicely against the charcoal finish. Compact geography that remains easy to reference with no clutter. Not the usual "metallic finish look" and is easy on the eyes over long periods. Just simply a great skin! Thank you!

Crazy Diamond 1. November 2005, 16:14

I agree with lazza, very easy on the eyes. My compliments, very good job:cheers:

ihenpecked 1. November 2005, 17:44

Very nice job. Out of the several hundred skins I've used, this is one of the very best

MCIADopera 1. November 2005, 22:36

Outstanding effort!

stack 2. November 2005, 21:31

Not bothered to comment on a skin before, but I thought this one was worth the effort. Great, clear attractive icons. Really neat look. I'm inpressed

Bittie 3. November 2005, 05:34

Yes, same as the previous user "Not bothered to comment on a skin before, but I thought this one was worth the effort."

Excellent skin *****.

One little thing though  Tools -> Appearance -> Buttons

The font on the button "Reset toolbar to defaults" is light grey on a grey button which is very hard to read. Not sure if it is elsewhere yet. Thanks again!

Dr.Benway 6. November 2005, 01:53

Never commented either Im using it now excellent

Bittie 10. November 2005, 04:30

Difficult to see the scroll on the left as it's a similar color to the background. If you wave the mouse over it it does lighten but if the is a long page it's hard to find.

Cheers

Spider16 14. November 2005, 21:11

This skin matches perfectly with the rest of my desktop, Awesome!

G1000 17. November 2005, 14:20

In a word SUPERB! Renders beautifully on my Mac. Totally clean, complete and professional; excellent work! This is what Opera skins should be! :drunk:

Patsy 3. December 2005, 04:54

Goes perfectly with my current theme

Jetro 3. December 2005, 23:16

Wow, this is one of the nicest skins I've ever seen. Nice tabs and buttons, and fine use of black colour

HEA 11. December 2005, 15:31

nice done
Thank`s!

olekasper 12. December 2005, 13:03

Lovely skin. Only thing which is a bit awkward is that when I only have two tabs open, I often take the grey tab as the active one (I guess because it is the brightest)...

5 stars for sure.

tobiasfidelis 25. December 2005, 01:53

excellent!!!!!!!

Isindil 4. January 2006, 18:56

Fantastsic skin, but the scroll looks bad if you open a long page. (Have a look at this.)

ManlyChik867 9. January 2006, 05:59

The Perfect Skin. Very clear but a bit small in my opinion. It would be More Perfect if the buttons like back and forward were SLIGHTLY bigger. Other than that the skin's excellent.

Jakub81 21. January 2006, 13:55

WOW, very good. The best dark Opera skin IMO.

balachandar 2. February 2006, 06:47

yep..has a lot of scope for betterment!

Anhungered 8. February 2006, 22:38

Da best.

jesua 9. February 2006, 12:58

The best what I saw! But little thing change active tab color please. I prefer 'black=background tab' and 'gray(light)=active tab' Then it will be perfect for me:-)

josh5150j 11. February 2006, 16:04

Best skin on Opera hands down. This skin is perfect. I wouldn't change a thing. Easily 5 stars.

sldcowen 17. February 2006, 22:34

Beautiful. My favorite skin yet!

RockGamer 19. February 2006, 20:32

Omg, perfect, 5 stars :D

kriz_gr 6. March 2006, 00:32

Perfect! Amazing skin dude.

kliz 6. March 2006, 17:03

Nice!
My favorite.thx.
5 stars

lem729 7. March 2006, 01:08

I would vote 5 stars on this, but don't see where in these comments there's a place for me actually to vote. Thus, I'm not sure how to evaluate the ratings on the other skins and this one. Are users comments being considered. If so, where? I would like to vote somewhere 5 stars on this skin. In any event, I love this skin. Was starting to enjoy the skins in Firefox more, as was bored with the Opera skin I was using. It's great to have a new one I really like. Also, the popular dark skin themes in Firefox, like Dark Japan, are too dark, or rather, some of the icons and other stuf are hard to see. Here the contrasts are perfect. Everything is clear. Great skin!!!

Website! 8. March 2006, 17:55

zenya 19. March 2006, 16:33

BRAVO a skin that's easy on the eyes

job well done !

zer0_luk 20. March 2006, 12:09

A fantastic skin for a fantastic browser. Thanks for the skin.

Deicide 26. March 2006, 12:18

Best skin !!!

huges84 27. March 2006, 18:33

I have been using Cathargo skin for a long time now, but I may end up switching to this skin instead. This skin is very nice. However, in the little bit of time I have been trying this skin, I found that I don't like the color of the scroll bar when you mouse-over it. The yellow just doesn't fit in IMO. I would prefer it to turn blue like the rest of the buttons do on mouse-over. I will probably change this myself. Still worth five stars.

SorX 1. April 2006, 18:36

Yes, This is the Best Skin!
Let's go Hungarians!

lil'dotti 2. April 2006, 11:25

Top notch amazing brilliant

Saigonian 13. April 2006, 15:25

This is the best skin that I ever seen! Can you believe it, I use Opera just because of this skin though I love Firefox better!

Oswego 16. April 2006, 00:19

It's the GREATEST.

one thing is i cannot find the scroll butto when in bigger sites. i would like it to be lit at all times, like orange you have in your thumbnail, or a L.E.D. blue neon.

yours is truly best. but i for a month now have had severe problems finding the scroll bat.

of course my recent install of a BELKIN KVM switch for running two computers ob one screen, mouse and keyboard knocks out the scroll wheel on the mouse and i must search for and locate the button on your scroll bar.

was hoping in view of suggestion above re active tab color should be reversed that this would prompt a revision. the poster is correct -- the tabs are reverse of the colors should for consistency of appearance be.

one thing--i switch colors of win title bar to black to keep with the indigo theme. looks real nice.

thank you for this. i will use it forever - never need to change it. put it on my other machine, too. please make the suggestions available?

thank you. VERY much. whatta great skin!

Rekhyt 26. April 2006, 21:07

Er. How do I get it to like how it does in the screenshot? Right now it's blue, or whatever color thing I chose, with...lines sorta.

That being said, I'm gonna go back to MeGuiDdo because it's dark.

vivycakes 5. May 2006, 13:06

Awesome. I've had this skin for so long, and I'm the kind who changes skins on programs a lot. This goes very well with my dark desktop & looks great in other colors too!

Rekhyt, you have to choose "no color scheme" under Tools/Appearance so that Opera won't recolor it.

arain 12. May 2006, 04:25

very good
I use it for a long time

fille 17. May 2006, 13:06

VERY GOOD. It's my favorite skin

treehel 31. May 2006, 05:22

Best one. Good choise for Windows XP SP2 + Vista Tranformation Pack 3

bjdobson 10. June 2006, 19:49

I love this skin!!! I changed the color to "blue" and it looks great, is very easy on the eyes for hours at a time and is nice and clean looking rather than obnoxious, washed out or too bright. Great job!!! Two thumbs up!!

haerdalis 21. June 2006, 16:34

Very good skin.. And would be even better if the Imageblocking toolbar in 9. also was skinned.

drbehavior 23. June 2006, 04:31

Amazingly sophisticated - not unlike the entire Opera program.

miss_murder 23. June 2006, 07:11

this is a veary cool skin

benson58 24. June 2006, 21:36

Its just what i want to have on my Opera

Dj_Kot 30. June 2006, 07:12

very good skin

manboobs 19. July 2006, 05:42

this is good stuff. the only one i'm using at the moment.

benson58 23. July 2006, 15:27

Just perfect.
Looks great on Linux SUSE 10.

sports4mecc 25. July 2006, 18:52

This is the only dark skin that doesn't bother my eyes. The icons are great. Awesome skin!

cafesote 31. July 2006, 23:43

The buttons are the betters!
But i don't like, in that case, dark colors, therefore is the better black skin in community. You can create a dark-white (#F0F0F0) version, with "rectangular" forms. Continue not changing the web buttons formats.

hotelyorba82 2. August 2006, 06:18

I love this so much. I can't believe how fantastic it is...wonderful job! I applied blue with it..wooooo...nice. I love the side scrollbar detail. Oh and the little recycle icon on the top right. Wow wow wow! Everything is perfect as far as I'm concerned.

tufnel81 15. August 2006, 18:46

Just downloaded this skin. It looks great! Sophisticated and
stylish!

TuerbMan 18. August 2006, 23:41

AleksOD 20. August 2006, 03:37

Great skin, but the text on top in the 'block content' mode cannot be seen at all.

PrincessMisery 6. September 2006, 19:35

The Best Skin EVER. EVERRRRRR.

the4cast 8. September 2006, 21:51

The only skin i really like.

Pilot Pirx 27. September 2006, 06:39

kaarlows 7. November 2006, 06:39

This is a very nice skin, but a bigger differentiation of unread and read tabs and the active and passive ones (especially making the passive ones a bit darker) would make this skin look greater.
Beyond this question, this is a very nice work and you got from me a sure 4.
Keep the good work and I hope you can implement those suggestions soon.

Metal_tiger 21. December 2006, 00:30

great skin! My personal favourite

jbarracliff 31. December 2006, 06:10

Great style and taste not over done and flashy.

Bankrobber 3. January 2007, 16:52

Mature, business like and serious. Easy to navigate and the type of interface that is used by serious buisness and warriors; not soccer moms and teenage girls who tend to lean to the over exaggerated cutesy type of skin/experience for social, domestic and trivial purpose. (Social and domestic not being trivial and respect due to those ladies running lives and houses but honestly the vast majority of you do prefer the softer and cuddlier type of face to look at). Yeah, I agree with Jbarracliff, it's got style and taste, so that you're not just takin' care of the business at hand, you're lookin' cool doin it.

Vempire 7. January 2007, 00:30

This is the best skin of all. It's the only one I've ever used.

wolfix 22. January 2007, 02:17

This browser is best of all to my eyes - and I have tested dozens.

BUT :frown: , since I upgraded from OPERA v8.54 to v9.10, shadowguard messes up after some time of browsing. After 5 to 30 minutes, a move of the mouse messes up the backgrounds of some or even all bars.

Maybe shadowguard's author can make the skin fully compatible with OPERA v9.10 ? It would be a pity if not because shadowguard has become the ONLY skin I ever want to use!

opp 23. January 2007, 17:04

have to agree, there's something about this one, it's good

Metal_tiger 19. February 2007, 22:23

I just love this skin, have tried several others but this one is the best. :D

ZAHEK 21. February 2007, 08:54

that's nice.thanks.

kasa 17. March 2007, 13:25

slavik262 27. March 2007, 00:08

AleksOD 28. March 2007, 18:09

Definitely one of the best skins out there  Instant 5 stars!

Darken 28. March 2007, 18:58

Nice works, good dark theme. Thanx for the update.

tosbsas 30. March 2007, 00:42

could you please put version numbers on this page - would help to check for updates

Thanks great things

Ruben

institoris 2. April 2007, 19:11

Shadowguard 1.0 was slightly better, imho.
Stylish and intuitive.

andreortigao 10. April 2007, 04:50

This was far my favorite skin. Great color, small and nice buttons, very clean.

But i had to reinstall my Opera and i forgget to make a backup of the skin. I downloaded it again, but a didn't like the changes you've made. I rather the rounded scroll bar. The yellow button for notes and the blue button for e-mail were more intuitive. You've changed the color of the active/inactive tabs, this is confusing me. Now, the inactive tabs is almost the same color of the skin...

Do you still have the older version for download?

Thanks

(sorry about mistakes, my english is not very good)

Emdis 11. April 2007, 18:35

Great work, crystal clear icons. everythin's compact.

jjulagay 11. April 2007, 22:43

I like this update, espcially the rss feed button.

henrique.miguel 2. May 2007, 12:15

Excellent job! My favourite...

boomer94 10. May 2007, 01:30

how do you install the skin? :?

S-Priest 11. May 2007, 03:06

Cap-and-Judy, Opera can colour a skin. The effect picker's in the skin chooser.

Chianti 15. May 2007, 18:21

The best skin became better! Thank you!

notailent 24. May 2007, 14:22

OperaMania 10. August 2007, 14:02

The scroll bar of Version1.0 was better than current scroll bar. T_T

pispinti 31. August 2007, 20:37

with new scrollbar design, its simply perfect now. congrats and thanks

MartinezZ 6. September 2007, 17:57

Its my mind, but ... too "cool" icons and switched tabs colors is not for me.
I stay with v1.0.

Avyx 13. October 2007, 13:53

Best Opera skin.

Would love to have a new version with slightly darker elements.

christian-boermel 11. November 2007, 02:55

The spped dial window could get a better design, not just white. And I liked the rounded scroll bar more. The change of tab-colours is quite confusing, will see, if I can get used to it.

But it's in general a very good work!

andreortigao 15. November 2007, 00:18

The best skin ever!

I just miss color in Speed Dial

superthephil 20. November 2007, 16:39

Don't usually comment on stuff like this but I registered to thank you for this skin and award it five stars.

franz 23. February 2008, 15:46

You do very nice work! I use all of your skins  Thanks!

mehmettev 11. March 2008, 21:39

For nearly three years,i'm using it.
Don't like neither original opera skin nor the complicated/colourful skins.
The best in my opinion.

guberro 13. April 2008, 19:08

This is so easy on the eyes, excellent contrast, active tab reverse highlight, makes Opera useable- had a hard time distinguishing active/non active tabs.

One more feature to add to Opera: Make an "X" only on the active tab.

Very nice, thank you!

MartinezZ 17. April 2008, 22:49

Please, how can I get back swithed tabs colors (dark x light)???

Thank you!

ducy_vans 18. April 2008, 15:14

Thanks to everyone for all the positive feedback!

@MartineZ: If you wish I can send you the old version.

Very well appreciated. Thanks much!

pshyco97 3. May 2008, 03:42

I'm still using the old version.

Thanks. 10 stars

seremina 19. May 2008, 05:36

This is sooo easy on my eyes and kills eyestrain. Its just as small as Breeze Micro. I wanted that skin in a dark or navy blue or black colour with white text, but this one does the trick.

Additionally, the buttons are high-contrast, which helps me see everything without it having to be big. I'll have to change the tab update colour, of course, as the default is blue which does not go well with a dark colour for readability. But that's such a weenie and you-correct-it-yourself complaint!

Thank you so much and please keep this skin available for all updates of Opera. I never want to switch.

YisraelRaval 1. June 2008, 21:38

- augustwest

ducy_vans 19. June 2008, 10:19

@augustwest
Which version of Opera you use?
I've had problems with 9.50 beta, (with disabled referrer...F12>Send referrer information)...but with 9.50 final work fine.

infinitejim 20. June 2008, 06:30

Nice job! Thanks for making this skin! I'm using it. Jm

augustwest 28. June 2008, 13:37

Thanks!

Thanks!

satshow 24. August 2008, 19:57

Did you have a new version from the 9.5o version?
It's a nice skin to use.

zytozid 3. June 2009, 15:21

would be great if someone could make a new version compatible to opera 10(beta).

curson 6. June 2009, 03:50

I agree with zytozid. This is the best Opera Skin that's around, but it's a shame how the Feed/Mail looks broken with the latest (>4345) build. Hope it'll get fixed soon, I'm actually still using it, because there's nothing like this around to change it with ;)

rmf919 3. August 2009, 00:14

Nice layout, and one of the best that I've used. But one issue. I've noticed that on the speed dial page, the 'sync opera, customize speed dial' etc... buttons are hidden

doministry 4. August 2009, 12:56

Absolutely the best.
Compared with many other. Perfect.

AleksOD 5. August 2009, 22:00

Will there be any update for Opera 9.6/10?

GCG1000 8. August 2009, 19:34

I'll let you in on a little secret: Shadowguard looks GREAT with OP 10.00 Beta 2 on my Mac! :drunk:

zoquete 23. September 2009, 15:51
