DonAnkur 16. February 2006, 19:13

This is the best ie7 skin out there...

CsendesMark 16. February 2006, 20:10

n1

cyxovi 16. February 2006, 22:03

I agree, it's very very NICE. But it has a small problem:
>>> The "check boxes" displayed OK, but "radio buttons" haven't appeared, examples:
"Show installed skins" and "Find more skins" in "Appearance"
"Accept cookies", "Never Accept..." in Cookies option ...etc. It makes me hard to know my choices :frown:

it can be fixed?

inzavi 17. February 2006, 17:39

Radio buttons FIXED, sorry for this small bug.

aimzz 17. February 2006, 18:16

Definitely one of the best

yanike 18. February 2006, 04:46

inzavi, I have to say, "Impressive skin!" I didn't think anyone would make one compared to mine and you've proved me wrong! I don't mined giving credit where credit's due. Awesome job I must say this is a great skin!

http://www.yanike.com

GBR2 19. February 2006, 01:46

Really nice, at least is not bugus

inzavi 20. February 2006, 02:30

(!) 0.711 - Fixed horizontal scrollbar bug.

Please let me know what you like better:

* Blue or green progressbars?

* Rounded or squared pagebar button corners?

hmulyanto 20. February 2006, 03:31

inzavi,

I personally prefer the squared pagebar button corners. As for the progressbars, I dont mind whether it is blue or green but green seems livelier.

Why not make 2 or more versions  of LikeIE Opera skins and let people choose, although this will mean more work for you

hapablap 20. February 2006, 05:54

Overall, i think its definetly one of my favs. But I wish the home, wand, and mail buttons were in closer proportion to the other std vista buttons. They look out of place in comparison. Also, on the blue back/forward buttons (with scrolling options), the shadows don't mesh together like the other ones.

blinkybill 24. February 2006, 02:30

Hi inzavi,

Thanks for a great theme you have created.
There is just a couple of things i would
like to know.
1. How can i change it, so that the scrollbars
and dropdown buttons and progreess bar
use the default windows one.
2. How can i round the corners of the tab so it
more closely resembles IE 7.
So please keep up the great work you are doing.

cheers
blinkybill

slimzky 24. February 2006, 05:43

after switching from FF to Opera, finally a nice vista skin... the best out there imho,, keep it up!

inzavi 26. February 2006, 02:42

Version 0.715 - rounded buttons are back, but i'll include both rounded and squared versions in final release.

binkybill, it's not possible to combine native and skinned parts, sorry...

bigguy19742000 26. February 2006, 06:26

How did you customize the toolbars like that? I can't seem to get it to look like the screenshot there.

blinkybill 26. February 2006, 12:00

Hi Inzavi,

I prefer rounded tabs and a blue progress bar.
Thanks for changing the tab bars to rounded corners
as it makes it look more authentic to the real IE 7.
Is there anyway to add a throbber such as in IE 7 has?.

cheers
blinkybill

inzavi 26. February 2006, 14:47

0.72 - Throbber etc.

konic 26. February 2006, 17:59

Ok, two issues.
1. Icon for the New page (green cross) is too thick
to be consistent with the style of the other icons.
2. (Default) Bookmark icons do not change after I visited the site.
Of course, these sites do not have fav icons, but you should have
some substitution.

aimzz 26. February 2006, 23:08

Version: 0.72 - The best so far!

blinkybill 26. February 2006, 23:29

Hi,

Your theme gets better and better every day.
Thanks for doing a great theme.
Just a question, anyway to add a new tab button
as in IE7?.

cheers
blinkybill

konic 27. February 2006, 12:50

Is there any way to load previous version?
This one (721) looks ... bad, at least on my comp :frown:

inzavi 27. February 2006, 20:39

Likeapimp 27. February 2006, 21:21

Lovely skin inzavi, mad props for getting this out.

hapablap 28. February 2006, 01:07

Is there anyway to edit the back and forward buttons so that their shadows are properly aligned? Maybe you can move the drop down menu on the back button to the left side instead. Hopefully, this is something that can be edited. Regardless, awesome job!

blinkybill 28. February 2006, 06:39

Inzavi,

This theme gets better and better every version.
Just a question how can I make some of the toolbar buttons
like Home or Print not show the text underneath or to the
right when that option is set. In IE 7 only Page and Tools
have their name showing and I am trying to achieve that affect

cheers
blinkybill

inzavi 1. March 2006, 07:52

hapablap, can you plz post a screenshot here? I didnt experience this problem...

aimzz 1. March 2006, 13:58

Version: 0.722
The mouseover effect on Forward / Reverse buttons is very cool.
I do not care for the new notepad icons or the stars added to the globe-type icons
Still great, though

Likeapimp 1. March 2006, 20:00

version .73 looks beautiful, goes nicely with my current windows theme. keep up the good work.

hurzx 2. March 2006, 14:13

V 0.732
First, congratulations. Your skin is my favourite at the moment. I would however make several suggestions :
1. Could you try to reduce the heigth of the "general" "Adress" bar. The one with icons. It could be a little more space efficient.
2. You made recent updates that I don't like very much. Bookmarks icons both for file ( ugly colour) and simple bookmarks ( the globe with a star). I would prefer something cleaner and simpler ( a sort of simple tick-mark) and maybe white for files.
3. The same for the "Open" icon.
4. The "fit width" is not very explanatory.
I am sorry to be so demanding. Your work is very good. And taste and colors are so personal...
Merci d'avance.

inzavi 3. March 2006, 11:15

aimzz 3. March 2006, 16:13

Looks good in your screenie:
Magnifying glass as View button
The drop-down arrow for Closed items

inzavi 3. March 2006, 16:50

The "Closed items" button uses the same icon as the "Trash" item.

The "View" button is also used separately...

inzavi 3. March 2006, 18:29

What about...

gornjane 3. March 2006, 18:32

Hello from Serbia
Very nice skin.... But i preffer "big"(32x32) icons for : OPEN, SAVE, PRINT, FIND, HOME, PANELS...Also for left panel icons... Can u do a version with bigger(32x32) icons ? Please ?!

hapablap 4. March 2006, 05:11

Wow, I didn't think it could look any better. This looks better than ie7! Great work !!

aimzz 4. March 2006, 19:46

Version: 0.8
The file I download still says 0.733
I use some custom buttons which have worked fine with this skin until this version. The problem is a custom button with a drop-down menu. In this version, the button part works as expected, but the drop-down menu is no longer available. If I change back to an earlier version, all is well-- the issue started with this most recent version, labelled 0.8 here on the site, with file labelled 0.733. Thanks

EDIT:
Version: 0.8
The downloaded file now says 0.8.
The dropdown menu on custom buttons is still missing, but it's easier to have a clear discussion with the version number corrected. Thank you!

blinkybill 5. March 2006, 00:03

Hi,

Yeah mine was still saying 0.733 and also all my custom
buttons were missing their dropdown menus too.
The dropdown button you made for next to the search button
could that be made to show all the search engines like
the original IE 7.
And the Back and Forward buttons when you drag them onto
the toolbar they have a gap between them not like the previous
version where they were touching each other.
This skin is the best I have seen.

cheers
blinkybill

P.S. Is there anyway to make the page loading icon animated?.

WarlordOne 5. March 2006, 01:47

I like your ideas for improvement. Thanks for the great skin to round out my Vista Aero themed desktop.

hapablap 5. March 2006, 05:29

I don't like how each new/blank tab has the globe symbol on it as well as in the address bar. I liked the old version that just utilized the blank page symbol. It was much simpler. Thanks.

sybs 5. March 2006, 10:13

thx for the work. indeed a very good skin. i have a few improvement ideas:

- in the bookmarks menu the folder icons are 16px high which makes the bookmarks menu look very packed and dense. can you try to make the icons 15 or 14 px high? alternatively, is it possible to increase the space between the bookmark entries so that the menu looks a bit "airier", like in ff?

- the back/rewind/forward/fastforward icons on the right click menu have something what looks like a drop shadow or so behind them (i mean the 16px icons). can you clean that up, please?

appart from that this skin is excellent. imo the best skin so far (otherwise i wouldn't bother to make this posting).

thanks again!

inzavi 5. March 2006, 12:35

Screenshots plz... I don't see ANY bugs

Ashton8 6. March 2006, 01:45

Amazing theme, looks great!!!

blinkybill 6. March 2006, 08:45

Hi inzavi,

I have got a screenshot for showing when I load your latest
theme all the drop down menus on my toolbar icons disappear.

cheers
blinkybill

sybs 6. March 2006, 09:45

hey inzavi. i made a new thread to attach screenshots. here's the link: http://my.opera.com/community/forums/findpost.pl?id=1466966

inzavi 6. March 2006, 21:32

1. Dropdown menus. I've removed the dropdown icons to try making some ie7-like buttons closer to the original. If it _really_ causes inconveniences, i'll return them in the next version...

2. Right-click menu icons. The menu uses the same images, as toolbar. I haven't found a way to separate them...

3. Animated_Loading_Icon. It would be nice, but Opera doesn't support animated icons...

Thanks for critique and positive responses

aimzz 6. March 2006, 22:20

Sorry it took so long for me to do my screenies. I added them with some comments to sybs' thread: http://my.opera.com/community/forums/findpost.pl?id=1466966

I appreciate all the thought, effort and care you have put into this skin. You and the skin deserve 5 stars, no matter which choices you make in the end. Great job!

gahbmwM5 7. March 2006, 01:26

Very nice work on this intriguing skin! I too utilize a 'customized menu button' and like the GUI of the blue_glass search button combined with Menu...

Will put up a pic on the thread that sybs kindly posted above..Definately looking forward the progress of the well done skin..

Maybe, inzavi, you posted a pic of a drop-down menu from the clicking on the blue-glass downward arrow, as it looks nice that would give one the Main drop down options:

File Edit View Bookmarks Tools Help

Either way you decide you have done a well thought-out GUI with nice icons that match the IE7 GUI look which I adore...

EDIT

Sorry for the confusion, but you have already added this Main_Menu button as a option...

EDIT AGAIN

Please see my remarks and (2) ss on the above thread in the Skinning forums:)

blinkybill 7. March 2006, 05:48

Hi inzavi,

Yes could we please have the drop down menus back
as now none of my custom menus work.

cheers
blinkybill

slimzky 7. March 2006, 12:53

hi inzavi, i thought i was the only one having some issue with that dropdown menus.. as a matter of fact, i have posted a message regarding this in ur devianart account & even opened a new topic in skinning section.. my bad i didnt take a look at this thread first... well i will post it here

http://my.opera.com/community/forums/findpost.pl?id=1466966

Hi Inzavi

I might have been one of the last people downloading your wornderfull skin. I've the 0.81 version and it's almost perfect. The only thing i've to ask it's about the full-screen button, at least my version doesn't have none (just an empty square).

As for what others say about your skin updates... who cares? I hope you keep your good work by improving an already good skin!

congrats on the good job

MarcFou 8. March 2006, 02:19

I have had a hard time following your skins due to the fact there have been multiple submissions of the same skin under different names.

The skin is (was) great and I thought it was coming along nice. Just a thought after reading the comments regarding bugs in the skin. It may be possible since your using a non-standard XP theme that you dont see the problems XP user see? I dont know if your running Vista or using a Vista theme - that may be the problem?

Anyway. No complaints here. Just confusion of releases. Looking forward to more skins from you.

fesquivel 8. March 2006, 14:34

I was updating my browser with your skin every time you posted un update. It's just great, other skinners are just jelous! ;-)

Anyway, do you have an alternate website where you post updates of your skin? I could only grab v0.8 as the last one :-(

velmu 8. March 2006, 17:26

I loved the skin too.

gahbmwM5 8. March 2006, 23:46

Yes indeed as inzavi has posted up a website where he will be updating this wonderfully soothing skin...Go to the Skinning Forums, and the thread is titled:

LikeIE Skin by member sybs (if you view the comments above, he has a link to it...

inzavi has posted up versions: ie0.83_with drop down arrows, and ie0.83N_with no drop_down arrows:

I used version 0.8.4 of the skin.

pholie 27. March 2006, 19:05

eestlane 1. April 2006, 17:37

Nice skin, only problem is that I prefere using tekst next to my main toolbar images, and because of the background of next, back images it doesn't look so nice, doesn't IE 7 use text next to button images like IE 6 does?

blinkybill 2. April 2006, 02:36

Yep good to see you back and your new skin
looks great.

How do you get rid of the panels and add text and of the text on top (file,edit,view...help)?

Great skin though.

Nxqd3051990 8. April 2006, 15:28

Is it not work great with Opera 9 Tp2

cyxovi 16. April 2006, 21:30

Hi inzavi, the new style look good (version 0.8.5). But, if you please, combine tab's style of version 0.8.4 with the new one, for me it look better.
Also, in this new version, the effects with tabs seem not to work good with me :frown:.

EmasXP 16. April 2006, 22:07

0.8.5 looks fresh! But the panel tabs is not that good right now.

maxstep 19. April 2006, 01:28

Hello! Amazing skin, but PLEASE change the bookmark icon it is terrible in new version. Also new tabs don't look that good, I guess a bit of "glassy" look would shape them up). Thanks

svyatogor 20. April 2006, 11:19

in 0.8.5 the menus are waaay off. pretty nice otherwise. but for the time beeing I stay with 0.8.3

Kanel 21. April 2006, 08:40

Really nice! :eyes:

GOD00007 21. April 2006, 10:10

Nice skin!
One problem - The links placed on the toolbar doesn't have an icon so it looks invisible. You get what I mean? ... You drag a link and place it on any toolbar.. if the link has a favicon then the icon shows but links without favicons haven't a standard icon defined in your skin. So I can't see the icon unless I hover over it.

yanike 26. April 2006, 00:21

Awesome Skin! Some of your icons are incorrect though. But this is nice! If you want to use mine from IE7 for Opera 3 go ahead.

You're the only one I give permission because you make kick @$$ skins like me.

joe45 29. April 2006, 10:01

I am very like your LikeIE opera skin, but the address bar and search bar have the black rim, So if i want take it or change to other color, how can I do??? thank you so much!!

And if i want change Google search bar the google icon, how can i do??

eestlane 29. April 2006, 11:13

rim = border?

joe45 29. April 2006, 11:45

yes, rim= border, the address bar border is black , how can i modify?

[img]http://my.opera.com/joe45/homes/files/Snap12.jpg

blinkybill 30. April 2006, 10:27

Hi,

You can change the colour of the address bar border
by going to the Edit folder in the skin and change
the colour of the png thats already in there.

Here is a pic of how i have customised Opera 9

tjeerd 1. June 2006, 06:30

Very nice skin

One question: Some websites do not have a icon. So if you place the link on the personalbar or the startbar you can only see the name but no icon. can you create a nice looking default icon for these sites?

healer 7. June 2006, 21:34

would be good if you make a version that the close button appear on all the tabs and not only on the active one :D

This skin & LikeIE modified is the best Opera skin! Great job!

sebey238 8. August 2006, 20:24

do you need vista to have the the vista close maxamize and minimize buttons?

Dnoff 12. August 2006, 00:45

tribaldor 31. August 2006, 12:42

I love it, the gradients are sooo pretty. My one problem is that that I set my DPI to 125%, "Large size" fonts. So when I mouseover an arrow like beside the address or search bar, it seems to show double! Like here:

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usCLICK HERE TO ZOOM

fesquivel 1. September 2006, 23:00

Is it possible to enable the closing "X" on the non-selected browser tabs? I just don't like to click on the tab to see the "X" and then close it (two clicks for closing a tab), when other skins allow to close the tab just by clicking the visible/enabled "X" on non-selected tabs...

underrain 18. September 2006, 07:59

i virtually agree with Fesquivel's comment

GeekK 3. October 2006, 15:55

Very impressive!

javan114 8. October 2006, 21:20

The best looking skin I have seen for any browser.

pomah 28. October 2006, 23:32

Wounderfull skin, I really love it, but as people said before, is there anyway to change so that I can see "X" on all the tabs, so that I dont have to view a tab to be able to close.

yoyo 1. November 2006, 07:31

Very nice!
Except the rectangle refresh/stop button and the none native scroll bar :frown:

pirkaf 2. November 2006, 20:56

Beautiful skin, but I need the title of the tabs to change colour when they're ok. This is a problem... for example, if i'm chatting in many irc channels and i'm doing something else on the web, i need to be able to see when someone say something in a channel...

Musikolo 14. November 2006, 13:17

I love this skin, but as fesquivel and underrain say a X buton to close tabs would make this skin to improve a lot. It's quite annoying to have to click on a tab to then close it.

I hope this minor feature comes soon.

erikdowney 26. December 2006, 13:03

is there anybody would tell me how to hide the menus?...files edit view tools....i dont wanna see these....could anybody help?

Awesome skin, but I wish the fast-forward and rewind buttons background flowed into the back/forward buttons, instead of looking cut off.

Other than that, its AWESOME!

just took my breath away
even the original is not so elegant
amazing!

Great skin. Hope that the developer will keep on working on it.
We need a good skin for Windows Vista!

Really nice!

AleksOD 2. April 2007, 23:26

Great skin, thanks! Fits nice with my Vista look-alike desktop

AleksOD 2. April 2007, 23:29

Actually, if you have buttons for individual bookmarks in one of the toolbars with the option to display images and text below them, there will be no image of the bookmark, just the text below... :frown:

mafustokes 21. April 2007, 21:15

Any chance you can do a button for 'In IE' ?
The text I have at the minute just doesn't look good at all.
But thanks for a great skin, the best by far.

leokennis 29. May 2007, 17:38

This skin is absolutely fantastic! My only suggestion would be to keep the closing "X" on each browser tab like the default skin, until the are too many tabs displayed.

SouthernCross 23. July 2007, 00:09

Thank izt for this great skin! Keep the good work coming. This skin will fit great when I get my new notebook with Vista Home prenium. :D

santouras 3. August 2007, 14:59

fantastic skin, best vista/ie7 one I've used. I concur with the x button on tabs need to be there to close without focusing. Just cause it looks like IE7 doesn't mean it needs to copy some of its annoying features

Also, the navigation buttons in the address bar look like they could do with having more transparent areas, it looks like they haven't had the eraser tool used on them enough

actually, I understand why they have that area around them now, its more that I use the buttons with the drop down arrow, so it made them look wierd

anthony182 9. March 2008, 23:29

Ding ding! I've found one I'll use for a while! Nice work.

yanjchan 14. March 2008, 13:52

Um, could you make the bar beneath the tabs a little thicker, like in LikeIE?
Thanks,
yanjchan

yanjchan 14. March 2008, 13:53

Sorry, I meant like ie7clone.
