MrPingouin 19. February 2007, 12:24

Hey, it's a good beginning !
I found it easily-readable for a dark theme, maybe the first one I see.

I keep it for the moment

Luxor 19. February 2007, 12:41

Very Nice

Not sure about the blue stripes though.

untums 19. February 2007, 12:45

The author here. Thanks for the comments.

The stripes are a difficult part. I had circuits there before, and it was too intrusive, so I changed it to vertical stripes, because it seemed more neutral. It's still a work in progress, though, so I'll try to find some middle ground between intrusive and boring.

Qaldim 19. February 2007, 13:34

Very nice skin, I can't wait to see it in final release! I'm already using it! Keep up the good job!

albinoni 19. February 2007, 15:00

Wonderful!! The default Opera-skin should be replaced by this one.

Cyro 19. February 2007, 16:30

Very nice. The push button text color seems black to me. To fix it uncheck this in your opera:config -> "Enable Styling On Forms"

untums 19. February 2007, 16:35

It's a problem with Opera, because you can't specify a different skin for buttons within pages, but I'll try to work around that in the following update.

Edit: thanks, Cyro, great tip.

polatsavas 19. February 2007, 18:49

very nice but can be better

Darken 19. February 2007, 18:52

Not bad, thanx.

untums 19. February 2007, 18:54

You're welcome.

vespesian 19. February 2007, 20:02

I think its great - the stripes start to grow on your after a while, they actually help you focus on the tabs - esp. if you have a fairly small font set within.

AleksOD 19. February 2007, 20:17

WOW! Amazing skin! I love all the reflection and transparency effects!!! My skin from now on!

|Addict 19. February 2007, 21:50

not bad, not bad...

Contrid 20. February 2007, 09:10

One of the best skins I've seen in a while. Integrates nicely with Vista

Jadd 20. February 2007, 10:52

Still needs work. For example, the menus are white. Why? That doesn't fit in!

untums 20. February 2007, 11:16

Jadd, unfortunately, you can't skin the menus, because it's a limitation of Opera.

liviopl 20. February 2007, 12:10

It's great  .

Contrid 20. February 2007, 20:12

@Jadd - It uses the system menus.
Also...the theme says "beta"...meaning...it's still being developed.

Phoenix-1 20. February 2007, 20:43

Thanks for your work. It's the first opera skin I've found that I really genuinely like. I'll be using this from now on.

AdrianBell 20. February 2007, 22:24

Very good but it doesn't work with the tabs on the bottom.

Ganzer_K 21. February 2007, 00:40

Hey. I just wanted to say the main thing that caught me on this skin as original is the transparent tab bar and the shine affect you gave the individual tabs. If anything goes into your final work, transparency should be well considered for other parts. All in all, it's mighty fine.

Elephan7god 21. February 2007, 14:54

very beautiful skin, best i've seen in a looong while. the buttons are not all original, but integrate very nicely. it also works extremely well with color themes. i now feel like using a different one each day.

good thing, keep it up!

Rav-V3k 21. February 2007, 18:23

Reinis, It's Beauty Skin! but can U convert blue stripes to hmmm... grey for example? and other places where it appears? these blue colours don't match the rest of this Hi-Fi design
Greets!

Contrid 21. February 2007, 20:52

Very good but it doesn't work with the tabs on the bottom.

Yeah...it doesn't work with multi-row.
I don't use multi-row anyways...so it doesn't bother me

mrtea 21. February 2007, 23:38

looks nice, i like it quite a bit in fact.

could you make the blue stripes colourable?

inheritedhornet 22. February 2007, 04:22

omg....i feel in love with this skin at first site. yeah it would be cool if the stripes were colorable. if not, leave it at blue. grey is blah! I normally dont like dark themes but im using this one cos i like it

CsendesMark 22. February 2007, 09:53

awesome!

Cyro 22. February 2007, 13:21

untums:

Blue stripes,
Green stripes,
Gray stripes,
Rainbow stripes,
Circuit (like the FF skin),
Matrix (?).

Melvin Garcia 22. February 2007, 18:04

the blue stripes should go. I like the rest.

MrPingouin 22. February 2007, 18:30

Nah... I think the blue stripes are why everyone who choosed this theme actually choosed it

I think cyro is right, we should be able to choose a color theme, and why not, as Melvin said, be able to disable them

untums 22. February 2007, 20:50

Hello, the author here again. It's amazing that so many people like my skin. I promise to add customizable backgrounds (something along the lines of what Cyro said) and more buttons ASAP. (All tied up in contracts now.) Thanks.

mathbr 23. February 2007, 20:03

Looks really interesting. I’ll try it once you did something about those blue stripes. They look weird to me.

HEPB 24. February 2007, 07:47

Great idea with tabs background it would be cool if Opera will support transparency and it will be the same as on desktop. Awesome skin man  Now we need status field skined  Btw share the Blue Stripes background please P: Thanks.

Rav-V3k 24. February 2007, 08:08

another thing: left panel (mail, contacts, etc...) when selected + white text under icons become unreadable (highlight + white text)

XRichX 24. February 2007, 11:53

I am actually in love with this theme, can't wait til the final release!

beebazz 24. February 2007, 16:31

Best Theme Ever.

Personaly I love the blue stripes, please dont get rid of them.
In fact, I would suggest making the slider and scroll bars blue-on-grey (or grey-on-blue)as the grey-on-grey makes it hard to see where to grab the slider.

Thanks for this sweet skin!

Gulde 25. February 2007, 21:47

This skin is really perfect, blue stripes gives to skin fresh "look"...

Staretz 25. February 2007, 22:09

Blue Strips? Nice touch! Great contrast!
...(It wouldn't be the same without it)...

Definitely a unique skin in its own class.

And, with that, at the head of the class! ____ Congratulations!
And, Thank you.

~ Staretz ~

TheRuggedLion 26. February 2007, 12:27

I LOVE THIS SKIN!! I love the blue stripes man, don't take them away!! I actually created an account just to post my thoughts on this skin  All the colors are perfect, and i'm im pretty sure you'll do something about the colors of the drop down menus. Like you said, just needs a couple small updates, but overall its great. Thanks for this, keep up the good work.

Renthal 26. February 2007, 13:43

I think this skin shoul have littlebit more glass effect, but yes, this is really nice one. I like it

mamuf 26. February 2007, 14:37

Great work, indeed! The blue stripes are good with me. Perhaps could be even darker, but this shade is perfect, too. The transparency effect is cool! I haven't seen such effect in use with Opera skin yet, too. Good job, keep on!

I haven't read all the comments here, so my tips may be redundant: I belive You (untums) are working on the scrolbar, too. Then there is the known glitch with the Form elements. I hope You will deal with it somehow . I'd love the toolbar buttons (Fwd/Bwd/Reload...) mouse-over border to be smoother and more rounded - like the tab buttons are.

earam 26. February 2007, 15:44

really a nice skin
i hope to see final version soon.

in2opera 26. February 2007, 20:57

I like it allot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blue stripes are neat.

I noticed that buttons like the Google search buttons now have a gray background, this is cool but it makes it harder to read some times. The reason I like dark skins is because they are easy on the eyes and have a high contrast. Could you make it so either the text is white or make the background a lighter color.

raazman 27. February 2007, 01:40

I like the skin alot...nice work but here are some suggestions if you have not already considered them...

-change the shape of the button (currently rectangles/hard edges) when hovering over one (ie. back.forward button)
-change the scrollbar
-do something about the unreadable text on the buttons in forms
-...anything else you might feel right

other than that...very good work..one of the best i've seen

CosuKing 27. February 2007, 06:00

so good, i like

Pavel84 2. March 2007, 01:02

Nice skin. I love it!

- Fix the buttons in forms!
- I cant see the "Show Speed Dial" and "Hide Speed Dial" buttons in lower right corner of new Opera weekly feature.

Sorry for my english.

drlaunch 2. March 2007, 09:25

Wow! This skin is really fresh. I like it very much.

Though I find the striped tab background a little too busy. And the tab background contrast a little too much with the address bar in my humble opinion.
You should make the tab background simpler and make it change color when you change color theme.

The view bar button (the glasses) is a little hard to see with the default color theme.
The skin doesn't change any of the contact icons which is a huge plus in my opinion.
Could you include the extra icons from breeze? I would like to have icons for my InIE and InFF buttons. ( http://operawiki.info ).

Great skin. I like it.

don_jaro 3. March 2007, 09:11

I love this skin. The stripes are best of all

cyxovi 3. March 2007, 19:50

Wow! Thank you very much!
One of the greatest skins!

Stahn 4. March 2007, 04:07

Please, make this skin "bottom tabs" compatible :D

Thanks.

Deicide 4. March 2007, 08:11

Very nice! 6 stars!!!

nu4a 4. March 2007, 11:36

Great skin! I love it! Only one thing is missing... the tab-bar buttons on the bottom...

quest4748 4. March 2007, 16:14

It's a thing of beauty and a current joy (blue has always been one of my favorite colors). Thank you, thank you, Thank You.

-Albert.

remik09 5. March 2007, 16:08

very nice skin, thx for it and i use it now if you want now, great job men

maxfloyd 5. March 2007, 19:47

Большое спасибо, Рейнис! Очень красиво!!!

bgc 6. March 2007, 04:24

UAU

Congratulations! Skin is perfect!
Parabéns! O tema está perfeito!!

Helmers 6. March 2007, 07:01

Very nice work! A bit busy for my taste, but still a very well-made skin.

evilparrot13 7. March 2007, 02:50

I just got Opera after using Firefox and I'm really impressed i think this is the best skin there is and it looks REALLY cool!

AleksOD 7. March 2007, 20:58

keep the stripes please!
Also, what's new in the updated version?

untums 7. March 2007, 21:24

mainly, the bottom tab bar and push-button highlights. 0.3 will have more icons and stuff, and a version history. not enough spare time to make updates in bigger batches, sorry.

Stahn 7. March 2007, 23:35

Amazing. Just amazing. Might I suggest better folder icons?
Ah, I also noticed that the padding on the right side of buttons put on the status bar is a little off:

http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/1074/pdnggo9.png

yanike 8. March 2007, 23:11

Impressive

Darken 9. March 2007, 22:41

Nice

Rav-V3k 10. March 2007, 08:03

text on buttons in Gmail (archive, report spam, delete etc...) are still black with black background. i have unchecked "Enable Styling On Forms".

untums 10. March 2007, 12:16

Sorry about that, Rav. I submitted it as a bug report to Opera.

Rav-V3k 10. March 2007, 12:19

i see, thnx for your answer.

Roeh 11. March 2007, 01:10

Very nice job, thank you. I'm using this on Vista and it looks simply fantastic with the aero interface. (*^-^*)

Stahn 12. March 2007, 00:03

I can't read anything on the Speed Dial :frown:

HybridZero 13. March 2007, 14:58

Great skin. I love the blue stripes and the transparency. Overall this is definitely the best looking Opera skin I've seen. My only suggestion would be to skin the scrollbars. Other than that, it's looking awesome.

One question: How did you get the menus to match the dark theme in your screenshots?

FataL 14. March 2007, 17:16

Nice!

AyushJ 14. March 2007, 19:47

BRILLIANT !!!!!!!!!!! Everything is great except the BRIGHT blue bg. I like it but if you decrease its brightness/contrast then it will be great( but DONT change the background)

moreno14 15. March 2007, 23:57

Really nice one!! I just love the icons and the tab bar looks simply GREAT.

I still find the blue stripes a bit weird, not in the tab bar but in opera's dialogs and such.. maybe recoloring/using a different background for them?
Also, i've noticed that while using "content blocker", the text inside the top bar isn't readable, it should be using a darker color.

Anyways, i'm going to use this skin for a looong time

cestmoi 16. March 2007, 07:34

SUPERB SKIN!!!!!!!!

todo:
- text in the butons on the websites is padded right (not centered) especially in the fast reply window in PHPBB2 (example :D)

- like above, when blocking content the gray text on the bright yellow background is not a good idea ;D

- On Windows Vista sometimes when link is opening in new window (no tab, but detached window) tha frames of that window goes into standart windows theme - Windows Aero goes off for that window - I don't know if it's because of using Mirage or just Opera has this 'feature', but i've spotted it since using your skin.

- is it possible to change color of menus (File, Edit, Tools etc. but i mean the content of it after clicking it) to this mirage-black colour?

Can't wait to see next version!!

greets

pol_op 16. March 2007, 09:00

No no no, don't change the "Stop" buton, it was perfect (the "reload" needs to lose "the paper" behind the arow).
Please consider changing the folder icons.

It's a great skin, but don't skip the details.

jusa 16. March 2007, 10:50

Have used Mirage beta just briefly but this is great. It is just so "right" Looks about perfect to me. Thank you for your work!

shkbta 16. March 2007, 22:30

owesome

I love it

cestmoi 17. March 2007, 13:47

I've noticed that when I'm loading webpage with no favicon. The place of 'blank page' favicon (until you click on the tab with that page) takes yellow sign with black exclamation mark. It looks like an error. IMO it should be always a blank page icon.

Please consider that.

AyushJ 18. March 2007, 06:40

Normal here cestmoi, e.g. go to this page and check-
http://hello.com/

cestmoi 18. March 2007, 11:23

I know, I've contacted with author about this 'bug' and he promised that I'll be fixed in 0.4 version.

NSD 18. March 2007, 18:26

well.. good skin! Nice Work! 5+ !!!

knightsotor 19. March 2007, 09:47

the blue stripes work real well with my current set-up
looks awsome on a vista-ish set-up

love the transparent tabs, they look awsome

llookkii 19. March 2007, 14:47

Very nice work! I wish you had skinned the scrollbar though..

And another "nice to have" feature suggestion: The tab bar can be placed on the bottom. Some skins accomodate for this and flip their images.

Anyway, I think this skin is one of the best ones in the repository, thanks!

keff85 19. March 2007, 19:18

Cool! I love it! And I use it:)
(maybe I'd darken the blue stripes a bit, but I like it as it is!).

bomsom 21. March 2007, 00:02

Great Skin!!! Cool transparencies and I like the blues stripes!

A little bug: the button text is black(just like this "submit" button in this page) almost same colour as the button itself, so there's little contrast, making it hard to read.

An icon set is in your plans? That would be Great!

Congratulations!

Stahn 22. March 2007, 22:23

@bonsom: "To fix push-button styles inside of web content, go to about:config, select "User Prefs", uncheck "Enable Styling On Forms" and then click "Save" at the bottom."

@untums: Now you can add the "throbber" for Opera 9.2! Please add it on your next beta

guard952 23. March 2007, 11:15

This is AWESOME! The blue jumps right at you.

Renthal 25. March 2007, 14:49

Hi!

The blue stripes are awesome.
Could you change the style of the scroll bars to dark style?
I think this skin is beautiful but I don't like the style of the scroll bars.

Thank you!

srinuswat 26. March 2007, 09:41

the skin is just great
wish u cud skin the drop down menu's tooo

_deXter_ 1. April 2007, 07:45

Excellent skin, very unique.

The only caveat is that it uses too much screen real-estate. Can you slim down the toolbars/tabs or make a slim version of this skin?

bomsom 1. April 2007, 20:34

Thanx Stahn! Better now!

ian_jamieson 10. April 2007, 15:23

I love this skin. One of the better ones. I quite like the blue striped background and the transparency of the tabs...looks neat. Would be nice to possibly create different backgrounds...maybe instead of the stripe a gradient left to right (more subtle).

Anyway, i think when finished they should make this the opera default theme with a few tweeks to the default set-up (the part opera lacks in).

Nice One!

bombchicken 11. April 2007, 23:16

My current favorite skin, and the one I'm using.
I think you've done really good on it. For me the only thing I noticed, that needs to be skinned are the progress bars, but still good. I really like the vertical stripes.

Also, once your done with this you might try a Mirage Lite, or something like that, you know, a non-dark skin. =)

Linds 12. April 2007, 11:57

Absolutly beautiful and a genuine joy to use; I *love* this skin.

solardog 13. April 2007, 00:04

One of the most useable darkskins Ive tried. The blue stripes tho, kind of has that "trim fell off the house and exposed an old paint job" feel. The look is very sleek otherwise. I really like it.

GarrettWu 13. April 2007, 06:05

I hate dark skin because text is hard to read, but Mirage is AWESOME. I love this skin since beta 0.1.

xmszhang 13. April 2007, 09:31

good job!

MINUS8 13. April 2007, 21:57

when beta 0.4 or maybe major fixes and final edition ? ^_#
luv this skin ... and using dem

Katalyze 14. April 2007, 17:57

Possibly the greatest skin of all time on any browser. Hopefully you can change the stripes or sumthing (I would like to see something whitish or the vista ultimate background to kind of compliment in with the menu being white etc).
The buttons could be more vistafied (it is now a word) or modern.

Question:
Other skins can have more toolbar bookmarks without the (...) appearing, is it possible to do this with this skin?

Would love it if you could go away from the stripes to something more easy and fluid on the eye

And that black on black thing needs to fixed

cestmoi 15. April 2007, 21:17

waiting for v0.4!

Dark-Dx 16. April 2007, 20:57

Waiting for v0.4 and different styles... (i want the matrix one P:)

eek1 21. April 2007, 14:08

I love this. The blue stripes background is original. Great job! ^^d

Jetro 30. April 2007, 22:50

Great!! I really hope you make new icons for the Panel, which I always have up.

nu4a 2. May 2007, 11:59

This is the greatest skin ever!!!
Please, rotate tabs in bottom style tabbar!!!
Waiting for 0.4!

5/5!!!

allhewrote 18. May 2007, 02:34

uberlicious :D 5/5 love everything about it  keep it up man!

inBusteR 20. May 2007, 20:40

I love this skin. Great job

5/5

Slycer 20. May 2007, 21:53

This is an amazing skin. Havent found any bugs yet but i do have a comment about the blue lines. Don't get me wrong, I like them, I even have them as my wallpaper....But they dont work that well here. Maybe you could replace them with a smooth dark shade of grey. Or something like that. Don't get me wrong, the skin is awsome...I just think it possible to make it even better.

Salz` 4. June 2007, 22:02

i install this skin just in a idle moment. And oh my f**king goodness, my System looks sooooooo ugly, plase author: pimp my OS!

acersecomes 8. June 2007, 22:36

beautiful skin! i have one little wish, do milky - light version. {sorry for my english}

Halstrom 15. June 2007, 03:38

I love this skin!

b98 21. July 2007, 10:13

Nicely fits the Zune theme from Microsoft in WinXP

smaiel 30. July 2007, 07:27

This Skin is Very Nice

Jarrah 1. August 2007, 07:13

The buttons on webpages go black, and the text on them stays black - difficult to read. Would be good if button text went white or some other colour. Otherwise I liked.

tosbsas 9. August 2007, 14:33

@Jarah - did you read the comment o top of the page about that problem? Just press Version history

@Reinis
Any work done on this - you talked about Version 1.0 (:-))

Great Skin

jackinabox 11. August 2007, 10:59

I signed up just to say this to the author of this skin....

EXCELLENT WORK MY MAN! Please, Please, Please don't change the blue stripes in the background, or if you do, make the blue stripes version available as an alternative. They are what make this skin so unique, and also give it a fresh, modern artsy look. Kind of like some color scheme I would associate with stuff from IKEA, for example. I LOVE IT! There is nothing you need to change here.

Thank you for your great contribution.:-)

Praetox 11. August 2007, 16:47

This skin simply owns. I've used it for some time now, but I recently had to format. Now it says "download failed" if I try to download it again! =(

EDIT: Worked if I pasted the download link in IE. My browsing experience is saved, lol. Thanks for this awesome skin :D

untums 14. October 2007, 18:21

The last update adds a nice looking flipped bottom page-bar, removes the yellow exclamation icons and adds support for the Speed Dial.

mamuf 18. October 2007, 17:20

I've just checked if there may be a new version when there were none for such a long time and YES! The skinned speeddial is fine, I'd like to see a skinned scrollbar, too. But I want to thank you, again. I love this skin a lot!

Elephan7god 24. October 2007, 14:48

great that you continued your work on this. it still looks awesome, especially on speed dial. i like to let my pc just stand there now with speed dial open and enjoy the view

no wonder it's been the most copied new skin the last few months.

jazzspurs 22. November 2007, 06:28

This skin looks really good. The best I've seen. Good work.

mamuf 3. December 2007, 23:44

I was happy when I saw that with v0.4.3, the tiny black bar right under the title bar was removed but now, with v0.4.5 I see it's back. (I have Windows XP with Luna Element 5.1 Black.) Is that right? Because I think that simple shadow right under the title bar works just fine. I don't see any other changes (I've seen version history).

mamuf 3. December 2007, 23:49

Note that I have Menu bar switched off. I know that with Menu bar on, it looks better with that tiny bar/border. I suppose this can't be fixed for both the Menu bar off and on at the same time?

ImmortalKamikaze 11. January 2008, 15:46

Great Skin! I like the Blue Stripes too.

siyavash 20. January 2008, 02:39

The "Alpha" version is MUCH better, the "tree" background is wonderful. These blue stripes are horrible.

frozich 1. February 2008, 08:52

Blue strips are awesome!!!
I noticed that "Show Speed Dial" is missing...
I hide speed dial and there was no Show SD button in bottom rigth corner :\

luxyork 1. March 2008, 02:51

beautiful skin. not to sure about the black font on the dark buttons, though. is the stripe background available to download as a wallpaper?

VincentValentine 3. April 2008, 04:34

It'd be nice, if you can do it for firefox also!

One of the best skin of all time!

tenkabuto 23. April 2008, 13:57

I love this skin, it's perfect and is always at the op of my list whenever I install Opera.

Others have suggested to remove or change the blue stripes; don't. It's what sets the skin apart from others and looks very nice. If you can make it customizable, though, there wouldn't be any room for people (Unless they're lazy) to complain.

SHADOW-XIII 30. April 2008, 23:05

Great skin but I have to things:
1) What's the image used in background (blue stripes), I want to set wallpaper like it
2) How to change text on buttons on websites from black to white ?

Nerak 15. May 2008, 17:09

Excellent...I love the stripes no matter what anyone says.

Awesome there. The blue stripes make it. Just one thing, the text on some form buttons is kinda hard to read.

One of the greatest skin in these 6 years that I use Opera. flirt
Thanks, please keep update.

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THESE ICONS WITH THE BACKGROUND SPECTRUM COLOR BAR SCHEME FROM "EXIMPLE (OPERA 9.5 ONLY)" BY "SERAFINS" IN A UNIFIED SKIN PROJECT.
THANK-YOU.
(I COMMENT THERE TOO.)

Nice skin. Not too much effects, so it's still very efficient. I like it.

I like this skin. So much so that this is the first Opera skin I'll be keeping for a longer time! And for those that don't like the blue background (including me), just rip some files out of the "pagebar" folder of Mirage Alpha. The backgrounds there are perfect for me!

There's a few things bugging me still, but I'll customize them myself, I guess. But this skin is what the 9.5 skin should have been like. Colorful icons paired with blackness of soul. Superb.

While the icons (forward, backward, refresh, etc) could be more impressive it's still a good skin; nice work

Mirage alpha 1 is much better.

untums 2. April 2009, 05:39

Not sure how you can call it "much" better if it's basically the same skin.

Zeraman 7. April 2009, 12:31

Aaaaaa! When final version will be?

pmccollum 18. April 2009, 06:49

Sveiks Reini! Paldies par lielisko tēmu! Man gribās zināt, vai šai tēmai vēl kādreiz ir sagaidāmi kādi apdeiti? Pamanīju, ka darbojies FF addonu lauciņā, tāpēc radās šaubas...

Nerak 6. June 2009, 02:58

One of my very favorites. I love this skin!

untums 2. August 2009, 18:13

@lilmoder: Mirage sākumā bija domāta tieši priekš Fx. Operai es to uztaisīju kā izmēģinājumu. Katrā ziņā, es mēģināšu to pabeigt.
