As far as I can see, here is only two icon sizes,
no matter what percentage to choose.
And you don'n want change it because of the other skins.
BTW, it would be greate if Opera 'skin machine' could handle
different icon sizes for different skins.
Anyway, the idea of 'named' icons is kind of interesting, 'though.
The only problem is with 'New tab', - I could not turn off text 'New tab'.

percentage works fine here.
for the text, open Appearance Dialog and click on the New tab icon.

As for percentage, there are ..., 100, 90, ..., 40.
Starting from 70% and down icons do not change.
It works in other direction - from 100 and up,
but it is too big.

Love the skin, mind if I edit it to produce a Mini version, I just like to have a lot of screen space.
40%-70% seems to be the same, on up from there each new percent (80%, 90%, 100%, etc) produce different sized icons.

This is the old feature in Opera...I don't see why the point of this is specialy related to this skin only?

9745 introduced a new way of drawing which I used in various parts.

Looks little unfinished to me but very promising. Scroll bars don't look very good and don't really fit with the overall look. Other thing that bothers me a little is how buttons look when you put mouse over them. Very beautiful anyway and it's good idea to use letters in the icons.

Like: appearance of 2-character buttons
Dislike: buttons when hovering cursor over them
the scrollbars look out of place
the white-grey gradient for textboxes, etc.

I love all your other designs (especially jimple), hope this one gets better when it hits version 1.0!

Hey....can you pls make a version/teach me how to make this version use the buttons and icons used in O'Simple 1.1? Also, is it possible to make the blackened effect on all the corners too? because currently on large text fields the corners are white and look kinda weird....

first, refer to O'Simple link to a Forum thread.
(dont miss the tips.)
then, edit the [Images] section in skin.ini
(the icon images are defined there.)
migrate the icon images from O'S to EX.

OR

you can do it the other way round.
harder, though, much harder.
(the "architec" of EX is tricky.)

I'm not sure, but big text boxes, like the "write a comment" text box at the bottom of the page, looks like it has the outline of a black circle in it....how can i remove it? BTW thanks for the tip just now =)

Also, is it possible to make the black outline only visible on smaller text boxes? i kinda like them in single-line text boxes but when theres more it looks too pixelated.

OK, i downloaded the 9.5 beta (rofl i didnt see the '2' in '9.25') but i realise i still see that outline...and i realise that it kinda works better on 9.25 because in 9.25 you can see the "What is Speed Dial" and "Hide Speed Dial" clearly in the speed dial page compared to 9.5beta where its unclear under the dark background of your skin.

Anyway, i can still live with it cause this is probably one of the best skins made ever!

Very nice skin indeed!... Just one problem: If the progress bar is set to "pop up at bottom", it only appears when you have opera in full-screen mode... Or am I the only one having this problem? (9.5 build 9815)

Spotlighted, this is a skin that really worth using it.

At first, I thought that this skin was really dumb, but once you're used to the abreviations, you cannot consider switching to another one...till someone make another one with other original idea!

5 stars.

Though, nothing's perfect: I thing that the used on the "x" for closing tab is not matching the skin, maybe you could simply change the "x" to slight red.(but not the background of the "x").
In the same way, you should make some icons for M (the mail client).

Can you please send me a PM when you update your skin?

I have some more requests!

-this one is a kind of a bug: trash icon cannot be seen when whe do not hover on it with a white background. (Talking of the panel trash for bookmarks, widgets and so on)

-Could you please make a "UP" icon that would stand for CTRL+BACKSPACE action (bringing you up in the structure of a website) because I have found a button doing this, an icon would be great!

Wow this skin is simply amazing. Like someone said before the scroll bar doesn't look as nice as everything else. Other than that everything else is beautiful. Can't wait to see the final version of this.

Do you by chance have a high-res version of the background? This skin looks great when browsing the web, but the speed dial is really brought down by the low resolution. The low res looks great on my laptop at 1024x768, but not-so great on my 24". Also, I really liked the idea of using this as wallpaper, again the resolution came into play.

Overall, great skin! I switched to this skin a few months ago and haven't looked back. Although, I do use O'Simple at work, as it has a different feel to it. Just more evidence of your great skinning.

ADD TO DOWNLOAD NOTE THAT "COLOR SCHEME" MUST BE SET TO "NO COLOR SCHEME" TO GET THE FULL COLOR SPECTRUM, OR SINGLE SHADE COLOR BANDING RESULTS. (OPTIONAL) SINCE THAT SETTING SEEMS CONTRADICTORY, I ALMOST MISSED IT. I WAS USING "SYSTEM COLOR SCHEME" WHILE TESTING SKIN DOWNLOADS, AND THOUGHT I COULD ONLY GET MY CHOICE OF ANY SIGLE COLOR SHADE, SINCE NO "MIXED COLORS", "ALL COLORS", NOR "FULL COLOR" OPTION(S) EXIST. I ALMOST ABANDONED THIS SKIN IN MY HURRY WITH THAT INITIAL RUSH OF DISAPPOINTMENT, AND THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A LOSS.
PERHAPS WITH ICONS THAT LOOK LIKE THUMBAIL PICS OF PHOTOGRAPHS WITH GOOD CONTRAST FOR QUICK EYE REFERENCE.

using this with opera 9.5 now but i realize that the start bar (no longer on by default) but i use it, is not skinned. it's just white, which makes the grey text barely legible. is there any way to fix/add this? i use the startbar for bookmarks and other items that i want when i first open the browser... other than the speeddial of course.

This is my favorite skin. However I find picture icons much easier to quickly identify. That is all I would change.

Like some others, I would like this skin with icons instead of the two letter buttons. Also, could you use the buttons in the configuration windows, (i don't know the name) also in the normal web browsing?

I love the buttons

If someone has a lot of buttons, it gets confusing and cluttered looking, but if one just has a few buttons, it looks very nice. (most buttons can be rendered obsolete by mouse gestures)

hey sorry if you've answered this in a previous post. i'm too lazy to read all the comments. i love this skin but i was wondering if there was any way to get the normal icons on it? the background is an amazingly beautiful skin and i love it i just want to use normal icons that are maybe purple yellow orange blue and/or that green. i think that would look really good. thanks in advance for the feedback

About icons it's simple and customizable.

Choose your favourite icon from other themes (C:\Documents and Settings\"profile name"\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\skin\"theme name", extract and find "buttons" folder, there are icons. Change their names in Eximple's order, then drag and drop to the main Eximple zip folder located on C:\Documents and Settings\"profile name"\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\skin\
Example
fast_forward.png --> ff.png
home_page.png --> hm.png
wand.png --> wa.png
etc...

Well... i like the buttons. I think icons would look pretty goos as well, but this skin is obviously the best looking skin i've ever seen.

i love the fact that there aren't icons for the buttons...that they're abbreviations. everyone that's seen my browser asks me about it and compliments it! i have no problems running the skin, or sizing, but i'm also not a power user...just a casual user with an eye for the eye catching. kudos!

i used this skin with the modified dialog.ini provided by TAMIL and it looks really wonderful.TAMIL's modified dialog.ini provides lot more color option.
