Nice skin, simple in the vein of Dimple, will be interesting to see where this skin goes.

Luxor 18. April 2008, 11:58

Looks promising, will keep my eye on this one.

Cyro 18. April 2008, 14:01

how about a native version of this skin??

BulletProofED 18. April 2008, 21:00

wow beautiful skin, love it. should be opera's standard

chosenone437 19. April 2008, 01:49

nice skin

konic 19. April 2008, 02:06

I gave 4 stars.
I think, you should do something with folder icon.

nenericardo 19. April 2008, 22:34

great skin :D

bluegaroo 20. April 2008, 20:32

Dude! This is one of the best looking skin I've seen. Looks perfect with beta 9.50 and I'm using it as my default.
Keep it up and stick with this skin!

arcy 20. April 2008, 20:48

Thank`s for very nice skin for 9.5

rocco 21. April 2008, 20:50

Very nice, one of the best!

masterofopera 24. April 2008, 08:00

Looks nice,
but the Lock is too small (bug) (can not made larger)
and some dialog backgrounds are looking unnormal (bug)

serafins 24. April 2008, 08:58

sure you didn't miss "Opera 9.5 skin"

kitt 25. April 2008, 22:25

The thumbnails background in a Window Cycle (ctrl-tab) looks really ugly when the following is enabled in opera:config

> "Use Thumbnails in Window Cycle"

Please fix this in the next release. Looks good otherwise.

kitt 25. April 2008, 22:30

Actually, my previous comment only applies to Opera 9.27. I didn't realize this skin is for 9.5 alone.

(arghh ! I couldn't edit/delete my previous comment. I get an error "401 Authorization Required" when I try to edit/delete)

serafins 25. April 2008, 22:34

^ rate this skin a 5 star would allow you to do so.:D

rocco 28. April 2008, 13:10

A nice addition to this lovely skin would be some nice mouseover glow on buttons. Like the one there is on the default button already.

rocco 28. April 2008, 13:13

hmm edit doesn't work...

The "Dapper" skin has this mouseover effect as a reference.

SebastianV 30. April 2008, 03:52

I tried some skins. This is my favorite skin because of the very clear symbols. I think this skin will have a very great future.

Staretz 13. May 2008, 06:04

"Tobias Murano, the savant of Opera skins."

Well put!
I couldn't have said it any better myself.

rmadeira 14. May 2008, 22:01

Excelent! Simple, Clean, Great! Bonita de se ver.

gregbzh 29. May 2008, 19:15

Sweet. Merci.

tdzark 6. June 2008, 08:45

I don't get hover effect on panel icons. I think for me a mix between this theme and the new theme from latest snapshot could be perfect

DanielGEO 6. June 2008, 09:07

Maybe yellow Folders for Mails and stuff would look even better, i think

kuad 8. June 2008, 10:50

I'm confused by the mail panel icon. What is it?

Otherwise excellent skin. Keep up the great work.

soulstace 8. June 2008, 11:09

I like! Well done, thank you

VJgamer 9. June 2008, 19:31

I love this skin.

Now that Opera's standard skin has no color, when using your skin, the Bookmarks menu looks really dull. Is it possible to give the folders a new icon?

TreeGo 9. June 2008, 20:38

Very nice skin! It is a definite improvement over Opera's Standard for 9.5.

shoust 9. June 2008, 22:00

Suggestion: Add

Pagebar max button width= 240
Pagebar min button width= 20

To skin.ini so tabs with only icons on will look smaller

VJgamer 11. June 2008, 15:49

What's new in Trial 2?

serafins 11. June 2008, 18:12

new with my latest award -- Shield of Self Congratulation.

HeeZy 11. June 2008, 20:24

this skin looks great! please make a native version.

Eatcarpet 12. June 2008, 04:42

This skin is so clean... lol.

towolf 12. June 2008, 06:56

Nice. Now we have a very similar skin.
BTW, I grabbed your dialog window solution. Mine was very old and an awful hack.

towolf 12. June 2008, 07:29

And your trick to suppress the highlighting of the icons is a stroke of genius. I adopted it at once.

fegul 12. June 2008, 14:28

I don't usually like any of the skins for Opera, but I love this one even more than default 9.5 skin. Looks beautiful

Metoz 12. June 2008, 16:13

Such a beautiful skin! I never thought I'd change from Tango CL but this beat it.
Only thing I miss is IE and FF icons :]

rbemrose 12. June 2008, 20:00

I agree with VJgamer.

I've also noticed a few additional icons that seem to be taken from the (ugly, black) stock 9.5 theme.

In mail along, Filters, Active Contacts, Add Contact, and each individual contact use the ugly black icons.

Folders in History also use the ugly black folder like Bookmarks do.

The various sidebar trash cans (widgets, notes, contacts) are the ugly black one if I'm not mistaken.

Pesala 13. June 2008, 06:10

Already adopted as my default skin. Just a few ugly black icons that need fixing. I look forward to the next update.

Jud 13. June 2008, 11:57

Just excellent. Very clean looking, but information is there when you need it. I also appreciate (and encourage other skin makers to include) separate icons for Print and Print Preview.

rfudk 14. June 2008, 07:37

i just love it, but some of the icons is not that nice!

thejdt 14. June 2008, 11:14

A wonderful skin. I probably wouldn't have found it if the developers of 9.5 hadn't botched the default skin so badly. Maybe every cloud does have a silver lining.

Pesala 15. June 2008, 20:36

The folder icons need replacing. I found some in this skin:

robertb 17. June 2008, 09:35

love this one, since it's nice even if you got the tabs on the left side (got a wide screen)

giacomorutili 17. June 2008, 10:06

 Excellent! but, IMHO, with upgrade to 9.5 the folder icon (black) need replacing with "soft yellow" classic-style folder.
Plz, change it!

konic 19. June 2008, 12:07

I use 'trial2' release, which looks more compact than this one.
Icons definitely smaller in trial2.
'soft blue' folder is more consistent than the black one.
Carry on good work

VJgamer 19. June 2008, 21:29

Loving the semi-Final! Thanks for the bookmark folders. Finally realized that the mail icon is a postage stamp. Loving all the rounded corners. This skin is coming along really well. Definitely my favorite skin by far.

DrugControl 24. June 2008, 16:24

Best skin I ever seen: simple, clear, nice, complete. Tab-bar suiting the page like it should, so it's easy to see which page are opened by the tab-button!

Perfect & tnx man!

Where can I rate this skin? On this page?

alekc57 7. July 2008, 19:23

pepelemoco 10. July 2008, 18:14

This is an amazing fresh skin and I love it but still needs some fixes.
The most annoying to me is the sort of blinking of the toolbars when pushing the buttons.
Anyway, a great skin. I really hope your polishing it to release the final.

pepelemoco 11. July 2008, 05:20

Reloaded it and works just fine. I'm happy now

efekan258 15. July 2008, 23:59

New tab button may be better. And u may add some icons(ie,ff,appearance,menu...)
Thanks for skin...

irman2000 19. July 2008, 11:05

When I've just installed Opera 9.5, I was greatly disappointed by its interface look :frown: But your D.T.A. skin appears to be the BEST skin i've ever seen!!! Very clean, refined and modern look!.. Big thanks to the authors!!!

I *declare*: This skin *MUST* be default for Opera

P.S. (for Russian users): охуительный скин!

irman2000 19. July 2008, 13:13

BUT: I don't like the Stop button! I urgently recommend that you make it *cross-like*!

satbytheriver 30. July 2008, 10:35

Great skin, congratulations! The the gradient of the active tab is simply beautiful. My default in all platforms since I descovered it!

brzydula13 20. August 2008, 12:27

that's my favourite skin!

r-a-y 20. August 2008, 23:08

love this skin... but for the address bar buttons like back and forward... i'm not getting the icons...

i am using a custom, toolbar layout, which is probably the problem.

i've uploaded a screenshot here:
http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/3624/sshot1yc3.png

please take a look!

thanks!

jfollmann 25. August 2008, 22:21

Sweet! Finally something that doesn't look totally out of place in GNOME. Even the gradients on the tabs match the rest of my desktop perfectly. I won't be changing skins (or desktop appearance) for quite some time! Thanks for making this.

cellfone 29. August 2008, 05:13

Thanks,that's my favourite skin!!!

ideala2 4. September 2008, 20:53

This would be my favourite skin (if the classic one wasn't). Perfectly clear and usable.

I like it. Well done.

VanessaMk 5. September 2008, 19:38

Congratulations!

I absolutely love this skin. It's the definition of STYLISH. The gradient on top of each tab is just brilliant. I love it

I gave it a maximum 5 stars.

Thanks a lot !

ohshady 6. September 2008, 21:02

Opera should ship with this as the default skin.

hydrandt 28. September 2008, 20:17

Really great skin, thanks for creating it!

It's a pitty that Opera Link doesn't synchronise the skin choice - I have to look for it every time I install Opera on some new computer...

mickyfoley 6. October 2008, 07:30

Simply that what oshady and hydrandt were saying!

Broogan 14. October 2008, 00:54

I used this on 9.5x without issue but had to remove it after upgrading to 9.60. The Enter key no longer initiated searches from the search field on the address bar. Removal of the skin resolved the issue; enter key is functional to "go" in the search field again.
Nice skin, perhaps it was my upgrade, but possibly a tweak could be suggested.

iim-vxk 6. November 2008, 10:50

thx!

Khadgar 17. November 2008, 23:52

kuad: Stamp with a picture of a statue in Vigeland Park in Oslo. Somewhat mimics the Mail application icon from Mac OS X. The icon set I created was initially for that platform.

GaaraZanta 13. December 2008, 03:35

Was this recently updated? If so, what was changed? Still love the skin, clean and efficient.

adiq90 16. December 2008, 18:35

Just PERFECT

StringMon 18. December 2008, 11:11

Best thing about this skin? The tabs look like frakin' TABS. Five stars!

clean 22. December 2008, 07:42

New favourite! Crisp and (ahem) clean (no pun intended). Colours work nicely with it as well (not too strong). Works quite well with Alpha 10, too! Nicely done! Spotlighted!

LorenzoCelsi 24. December 2008, 12:25

Very good, thanks. I would add a border under the tab bar.

LorenzoCelsi 24. December 2008, 12:28

I meant the address bar. Sorry I can't edit either delete comments here.

eisteh 25. December 2008, 13:06

Nice skin. Looks very clear. I hope the remaining "opera default" icons will be replaced someday (like mail-> search/filters)

desperado666 2. January 2009, 19:09

one thing is missing. a different mail symbol when a new mail or news feed message is received.

eugenov 8. January 2009, 20:30

Smooth, eye-pleasing, 5-star skin. Thanx!

Entrase 10. January 2009, 19:19

The best one I have! It’s wonderful.

No mess found here. Try searching another location to get some dirt

Wandering electrons 14. January 2009, 09:13

As I said for the slim version, I find the D.T.A. line to be particularly well done, but I have (just) one suggestion:
the blue used for the slider in the scroll bar is a bit too invasive; i see it in my peripheral vision when I'm reading something in the window.
I'd suggest either a very light blue or perhaps a grey-on-light grey approach.
Otherwise, this skin (and its slim counterpart) strikes that just-right combination of giving color to the browser without drawing attention away from the webpage. And the tabs blend into the address bar absolutely perfectly.
Good job!

CsendesMark 25. January 2009, 00:13

Nice skin, good job!
But, can you make a version of this with rounded Speed Dial icon-borders?
THX

juanchito2006 27. January 2009, 05:35

A very well done skin, may I suggest improvements on the icon set?
A stamp for mail is not as easy to identify as an envelopes, for example.
The reload icon has that oval shape that doesn't blend well with the other navigation icons.

The Tango icons from Tango CL are just great. I know most of the widget styles in DTA are based on it. I guess that adding the icon set Tango CL uses (or one based on it) will blend perfectly in DTA.

I may think of DTA as an evolution of Tango CL, my favourite skin at the moment for use in Ubuntu.

r-a-y 9. June 2009, 21:56

Love this skin! It needs to be updated for Opera 10 beta 1.

The new default skin overrides some of the colours such as the feeds area and the preferences screen.

Syncerus 27. June 2009, 21:51

This should be the default Opera skin. 5 stars.

efekan258 16. August 2009, 22:15

Please update this skin :/

SteelRealm 21. August 2009, 05:10

Yeah, will this skin be recieving any updates to work with Opera 10 (once the Opera 10 skin itself is finished, i guess)?

Pesala 5. September 2009, 08:55

My favourite skin. I look forward to an update for Opera 10.

irman2000 7. September 2009, 20:11

Thanks again for the BEST Opera skin ever!

I see you have updated your skin to look more nicely with Opera 10. And that's great! The only thing I want to say about it is following:

I don't like very much how does the new "drag handle" look. It's a little bit heavier (darker and more contrast) than other elements of the skin.

The greatest advantage of the D.T.A. skin is it's unique lightness and the "light weight" look! I suggest that you should make the "drag handle" nearly unnoticeable in the whole design. (I mean the lightness, of course it should be colored and marked with the 3 dots or something else, so the user can locate it).

One more time, thank you!!!

DoraM 10. September 2009, 17:10

After marina skin wasn't updated, I had difficulty finding something that was light, clear and not too cluttered. I was starting to lose hope to find something I actually liked, but it seems that D.T.A. is it. Wonderful skin.

irman2000 11. September 2009, 22:16

DoraM, you're 100% right!

I would even suggest to make D.T.A. the default skin for Opera, if I could.

One more suggestion to the developers: I like the way you made the "drag handle" look after my previous post, but I suppose it can be done even better. The position of the 3 dots seems to be a little bit upper than it should be, or may be more probably - the width (vertical size) of the drag handle should be reduced a little and the 3 dots should be centered vertically on it.

The way it looks now it seems to be a little disproportioned (or asymmetric?)

I hope you understand what I wanted to explain; my English is considered by some people to be good, but of course it's not perfect  (I'm from Russia).

I appreciate your designing efforts greatly!!!

P.S.: by the way, I would like to tell that in Russia Opera is much more popular than in other countries! (Especially among advanced users, admins, programmers and so on). As far as I know, Opera's spreading in Russia is approximately equal to Firefox

irman2000 11. September 2009, 22:31

Sorry, if it will be an off-topic, but I want very much to show the statistics of browsers spreading ratio in Russia from www.liveinternet.ru (by September 2009 - so Opera 10 is just started)!

Direct link: http://www.liveinternet.ru/stat/ru/browsers.html?id=35;id=55;id=18;id=54;id=49;id=19;period=month;relgraph=no

Firefox 3 5,679,79421.8%
Explorer 7 5,266,71020.2%
Opera 9 4,508,75017.3%
Explorer 6 3,739,65214.3%
Explorer 8 2,258,2598.7%
Opera Mini 1,986,8487.6%
Opera 10 1,105,9794.2%
Firefox 2 302,8291.2%

We have 23% for Firefox and 21.5% for Opera.
And if we take Opera Mini into account then we have 29.1% for Opera, even more than Firefox!

IE have 43.2% total (that is already less than Opera + Firefox), and it's stably falling down every month.

Everyone can make a conclusion for himself wine

irman2000 11. September 2009, 22:37

The formatting of the table have been spoiled, and by an unknown reason I can't edit or delete my post: I get "You do not have access to view this page" - in any browser (???)

Here is the table with separate columns:

=========================================
Browser --- N of visitors --- %
=========================================
Firefox 3 --- 5,679,794 --- 21.8%
Explorer 7 --- 5,266,710 --- 20.2%
Opera 9 --- 4,508,750 --- 17.3%
Explorer 6 --- 3,739,652 --- 14.3%
Explorer 8 --- 2,258,259 --- 8.7%
Opera Mini --- 1,986,848 --- 7.6%
Opera 10 --- 1,105,979 --- 4.2%
Firefox 2 --- 302,829 --- 1.2%
