Realy great work!
BTW tabs should be a bit wider and that shadow bottom of tab bar is too dark.
Also I dont know where to get these buttons ("Add Bookmark", "Menu" etc.) in Chrome style...

josiasnenho 19. September 2008, 16:13

Do this change in skin.ini:

Window Document Loading Icon Inverted = icons/tab_page_loading.png
Window Document Loading Icon Inverted = icons/page_loading.png

h3x 19. September 2008, 20:56

Amazing work! But could tell me, how to add some space between favicon and name of the page in tabs? There's a lot of awful tightness between icons :frown: We're waiting for an update :D

iFily 19. September 2008, 23:32

Excellent work!
From Mexico;)

tytyty 20. September 2008, 01:14

Thanks you all.

h3x, I added a spacing = 3 between favicon and name of the page.

josiasnenho, I changed that icon.

lilmoder, I don't know how to put those buttons here, the code in my standard_toolbar (1).ini is:

Button2, "Star"="Highlight bookmark, , , "Star" | Add to bookmarks, 1, , , "Missing bookmark""
Button8, "Menu"="Enable menu bar, , , "Menu", "Account Operamail" | Disable menu bar, , , , "Menu" + Show popup menu, "Browser Menu Bar""

lilmoder 20. September 2008, 08:05

yamato74 20. September 2008, 14:58

missing some icons: in the panels, history icon and some other custom icons.

evertsfnic 21. September 2008, 04:10

I really like opera default skin. This one it's good too.
I can change my skin browser, but I won't change OPERA.

nenericardo 21. September 2008, 07:01

Chrome SUCKS!!!!

josiasnenho 21. September 2008, 18:04

You could add "IE" and "Google" icons
like this: http://files.myopera.com/josiasnenho/albums/376297/Imagem1.png

josiasnenho 22. September 2008, 14:08

The button "add page to bookmark" uses normal icon  , should use these icons: "missing_bookmark" or "highlight_bookmark"

Thanks fo the skin, it's nice.

josiasnenho 22. September 2008, 23:43

The button to close panel is too small

ladyw 23. September 2008, 05:23

I really love the looks of this skin!!! Is there a chance that the web panels can be skinned the same way? That would be wonderful! Thanks for sharing Chrome!

tytyty 23. September 2008, 16:19

To nicomen, ladyw:

I changed the pannel skin. thanks for your suggestion.

josiasnenho 23. September 2008, 20:18

The button "add to bookmark" is a plus signal, maybe you can change it to a white or gold star like.

good work until now
Keep moving forward.

vlevi 24. September 2008, 16:34

Looks great!

BTW, the email icons are still the default black icons, which I hate.

http://files.myopera.com/vlevi/albums/600934/fsscr001.png

wrobotka 25. September 2008, 06:57

A few observations on the skin chromium.
The address bar and boxes from the list does not show the whole letter: y, j, g, etc.
The width of the border strip address bar is uneven.

eestlane 25. September 2008, 07:29

The parts that are done are made well. Good work.

tytyty 26. September 2008, 05:18

To wrobotka:

I fixed those problems, pls try again. Thanks.

wrobotka 26. September 2008, 09:48

Thank you tytyty

The problem with the Enable Scroll Marker;
Copy the catalog: scroll_marker with standard_skin.zip
In place skin.ini file entry:
[Scroll Marker]
Type = BoxTile
Topleft corner = scroll_marker / arrow-left.png
Topright corner = scroll_marker / arrow-right.png
Corner bottomright = scroll_marker / arrow-right.png
Corner bottomleft = scroll_marker / arrow-left.png
Tile = Top scroll_marker / bg-line.png
Tile = Bottom scroll_marker / bg-line.png

wrobotka 26. September 2008, 09:54

@tytyty
I propose to change the bar ProgressBar = full_center. png and a compatible to the color of chrome.
http://files.myopera.com/wrobotka/files/full_center.png

wrobotka 26. September 2008, 10:37

Boxes from the list:

wrobotka 26. September 2008, 11:28

@tytyty

Consider the possibility of changing the height of the address bar to a height of the icons home page.
http://files.myopera.com/wrobotka/files/adressbar.jpg

It will look aesthetically. I think so.

tytyty 26. September 2008, 13:39

@wrobotka

Thanks your suggestion.
Now I added the scroll marker and changed the progressbar.

On my XP, the height of the address inputbox is equal to the icons. I do not hava a Vista to do test.
http://files.myopera.com/tytyty/files/preview_1_7.PNG

josiasnenho 26. September 2008, 14:10

please undo the last changes since 1.6, The bars consumes more espace and the button GO now has more space betwen adress bar and search bar

josiasnenho 26. September 2008, 14:17

The progressbar were more beautiful before.

josiasnenho 26. September 2008, 14:19

:frown: please undo this

josiasnenho 26. September 2008, 23:19

 good, but now the status bar is bigger than standard skin

Good work until now, hearing us, thanks.
Solution is: keep moving forward

josiasnenho 26. September 2008, 23:28

 Remember: Google Chrome has not a permanent status bar, then the status bar of Opera should be small

AleksOD 28. September 2008, 04:31

Wow, nice emulation, thanks

tytyty 28. September 2008, 11:07

I changed the height of statusbar and some icons. Thanks you all for comments.

konic 28. September 2008, 11:11

Nope, don't like this new folder icon.
And if somebody does not need statusbar just turn it off
instead of making it so small.
Carry on with 1.90[/clor]

tytyty 28. September 2008, 14:05

My god! :faint:

lilmoder 28. September 2008, 17:23

Nope, don't like this new folder icon.

Wait what!? That is the default folder icon for Chrome. And this is CHROME looking skin, so this icon belongs here...

hansbendiksen 29. September 2008, 14:15

Great skin!!!

josiasnenho 30. September 2008, 00:59

About the panels:
Good (perfect): http://files.myopera.com/josiasnenho/albums/611319/GC%201.6.png
Bad: http://files.myopera.com/josiasnenho/albums/611319/GC%201.91.png

 I think that when you finish doing this skin it will be one of the best available on Opera site

josiasnenho 30. September 2008, 01:20

I mean "icons tips"

lilmoder 30. September 2008, 11:19

IE style icons  meh... :worried:

cstrep 30. September 2008, 13:43

Cool work!

josiasnenho 4. October 2008, 15:02

josiasnenho 4. October 2008, 15:03

Mastermind1 4. October 2008, 19:36

Great Work but.. can you make it transparent. loke the real Google Chrome??
That would make it an awesome skin!!!!

mitchman2 7. October 2008, 16:32

Please use:

Fallback foreground= 1
Fallback background= 1

to maintain forward compatible.

c0rvus 9. October 2008, 21:09

Good work!

Only some minor things:

1)You fixed the lower case problem in the Adressbar and the Searchfield, but the text is not centered in the field now. At least on Win XP it's slightly below then supposed to be.

2) Menubar and Statusbar should be thinner in height as mentioned before. Chrome has none of them, so making them thinner comes somehow closer to Chrome. ( I don't want to remove them though. We still talk about Opera.)

Overall a great job!

slakyxp 12. October 2008, 18:02

very very good!
but could you please make addressbar and the searchbar slightly less high?
i'm using icons in 90% and it looks not so well..
thanks!

slakyxp 13. October 2008, 23:54

would be nice if the addressbar could look this way:
http://img399.imageshack.us/img399/8881/chrometn0.jpg (picture edited)
I'm too stupid to change it so it would be very nice if you could do it.

SouthernCross 16. October 2008, 01:30

 Great work on the skin.

Some minor bugs: (Windows Vista)
-The fast forward button is too close to the foward button.
-The tabs lines look a little fuzzy.

...and that's about it. :D

tytyty 18. October 2008, 12:20

I made some changes:
Fallback foreground= 1
Fallback background= 1
Add spacing between the fast forward button and the foward button.

josiasnenho 19. October 2008, 00:59

Correct this:
Wrong: IE= buttons/ie.png - this icon isn't there, but IE7 is there.
Right: IE= buttons/ie7.png or change the icon name from "IE7.png" to "IE.png".

 suggestion: maybe just to me, but the name of google crome icon should be "GC.png" and not Chrome.png. well it's not very important, use the you name want.

tytyty 19. October 2008, 07:32

Thanks josiasnenho,
T renamed ie7 to ie, and add a icon name GC.

josiasnenho 19. October 2008, 14:43

tytyty, you remember me the Opera team, correcting bugs so fast this way. :D
thanks.

Comments from Brazil/RJ - What do you think about my English?

filosnet 20. October 2008, 10:16

On Macosx both address bar and search box look not large anough to show words properly, so that letters like "g", "p" or "q" look cut at the bottom. Any solution? This theme is the only one with this problem. Thanks

konic 21. October 2008, 15:47

OK, first of all the skin is Good!
The only 'major' problem I see (so far) is that
it looks kind of weird when pagebar is at the bottom.
To "fix' it, I mean create a 'bottom' version,
the following vertically flipped versions of images should be added:
pagebar_button_active.png
pagebar_button_hover.png
pagebar_button_inactive.png
new_item_cross.png
new_item_pressed.png
new_item_hover.png
And skin.ini file is to be updated to keep the 'old' look of [Tab Button Skin...].
I know it is not like the real Chrome looks, but...

konic 21. October 2008, 19:46

OK, if anybody is interested in Chrome 1.94 'bottom' version,
here it is:
http://rapidshare.com/files/156246047/chrome-1_94_bottom.zip

konic 21. October 2008, 23:35

mtgle 27. October 2008, 16:26

Hi,lilmoder
Your verson (http://files.myopera.com/lilmoder/files/operachrome200908.png)looks like real chrome.
Could you share it with me? Thanks in advance.

slakyxp 27. October 2008, 22:52

I think mine looks slightly better:
http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/3517/operachromeks1.jpg
so if you want it feel free to download:
http://www.mybloop.com/slakyxp/Public/opera_chrome_rar

you should use my toolbar.ini file, which is included in the rar-file, and a buttonsize of 90% to make it look as it does on the screen.

a comment would be nice

konic 27. October 2008, 22:56

I do not see much difference except 'Speed Dial' tab icon and 'Panels' icon is gone.

konic 27. October 2008, 23:00

I meant difference between this skin and [blilmoder's one.

slakyxp 28. October 2008, 10:46

there is some significant difference:
the addressbar and the icons have the same size so it looks much more estheticly. In addition to that there are the original icons of crome on the right side of the addressbar. With one of them you can switch the menubar (file, edit, view) on and off.
for me it's just perfect.

i hope my englisch is okay, i'm from germany.

mtgle 28. October 2008, 14:07

Hi,Konic
I tried your verson.
First, the history arrow works very great. It not only looks like the chrome (http://img379.imageshack.us/img379/3884/pic1xp1.png),but also has the exactly same function that chrome has. I really appreciate this function which when the history arrow being held,it shows all the pages addresses you visited.
Second, the right side of my opera is kind of weird. http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/8763/pic2gt0.png
I think lilmoder's idea is good.(http://files.myopera.com/lilmoder/files/4chromeui.PNG)
But I don't know how to make these icons functionally.
Anyway,very thanks for your offer.
By the way,I want to say , just as Slakyxp:) ,I hope my english is okay,I'm from China.

konic 28. October 2008, 16:34

mtgle,
I think, all this excitements should be addressed to slakyxp.
I did nothing, just commented :D

mtgle 29. October 2008, 02:36

Konic,
I still thank you for giving me the address which can download Slakyxp's verson.

mtgle 30. October 2008, 01:51

Hi,Slakyxp

Thanks for your wonderful job  .I really enjoy your version of chrome, especially the history arrow.

miker71 3. November 2008, 19:08

Very nice theme! Small problem with the OS X version is that all the tails on letters get cut-off. In fact you can also see it on slakyxp screenshot:
http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/3517/operachromeks1.jpg

the "g" in google has lost it's tail.

in OS X then "y" starts to look like "v".

I don't know where to start to fix this, so FYI.

slakyxp 4. November 2008, 16:43

yes thats the only problem with this skin and i don't know to fix it eather. i only accomplished setting it in way that it is possible to identify the letters.
If someone knows how to fix it please tell me!

bad english, i know..

mtgle 12. November 2008, 04:46

I'm using the slakyxp's version. But I haven't this "invisible tail" problem. ( http://img379.imageshack.us/img379/3884/pic1xp1.png ).I don't know the reason that its showing is correct at my computer.

slakyxp 12. November 2008, 21:43

aparently you're using another font. how did you change it?

mtgle 14. November 2008, 13:14

slakyxp,
I'm using your chrome skin. But I didn't change the buttonsize to 90%(Maybe this is the reason that the letter tails do not disappear.)
And the right side of my opera is kind of weird.( http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/8763/pic2gt0.png ).Could you help me fix it?

slakyxp 18. November 2008, 22:53

thats weird..
1. if i change to 100%, the addressbar is smaller than the buttons but the screenshot shows it right.
that could be caused by the resolution. i have 1024x768.
2. on the right side of the search bar should be two buttons, but your screen shows one that is not included in my skin and the other buttons is only shown as text.

i think it is impossible, that the button with the glasses on the right side of the searchbar is shown using my skin. the file is included but with a filename that is not mentioned in the ini-file at all.

proove, that you're really using my skin that i uploaded to mybloop and the included "toolbars.ini". if you are, please contact me again.

slakyxp 18. November 2008, 22:59

edit:\ another point that shows you are not using my skin: the background of your tabs is as blue as it is in the original-skin by tytyty. my skin has another blue color.

dterei 18. November 2008, 23:29

great skin, really love it. Works very nicely on OS X.

Suggestions:

- I myself don't like the red line above the status bar and outlining panels.
- Buttons could use a tiny more contrast.
- Go Button should have same vertical size as the address bar.

mtgle 19. November 2008, 04:11

Hi Slakyxp,
I followed your instruction , checked my opera, and found you're right.
I put your "opera chrome.zip", which include two files of "chrome-1_92_fox3"and "standard_toolbar (1).ini" ,into the location "opera\skin".But I didn't unpack it.
Then I replace the orignal standard_toolbar.ini with yours. So, I used your toolbar, but used tytyty's skin. p: That's the reason that my opera is werid. :o:
But my mistake unexpectedly fixed the missed letter tails problem. This's very funny. Thanks for your help.
By the way,by comparison,I like tytyty's background blue for it indicates the layers.

tytyty 19. November 2008, 15:46

TO dterei,
I have no chance to do a test on OSX. On my XP ,there is no red line above the statusbar,
and the Go Button has the same height as the address inputbox. but my, toolbar font size is 12px.

slakyxp 20. November 2008, 14:28

how can the "toolbar font size" be changed?

mtgle 22. November 2008, 14:07

To slakyxp
I don't know what "toolbar font size" means.
Is this webpage helpful?
http://dev.opera.com/articles/view/opera-skinning-part-2-skinning-examples/#paddingmargin

tytyty 24. November 2008, 05:00

MainMenu: Tools -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Fonts -> Browser Toolbars.

youngjr 5. December 2008, 13:17

I like your skin. I use your skin for my opera 9.6.
But, the tab in this skin is crashed in Opera 10 alpha 1. Please check compatibility with Opera 10. Thank you.

josiasnenho 5. December 2008, 15:18

Opera 10:yes: has a problem with your skin
The problem is in the pagebar.

josiasnenho 5. December 2008, 15:19

Opera 10  with your skin version 1.94

slakyxp 20. December 2008, 23:20

i had this problem too, but after reboot it was solved.
at this point i want to show my version of the Chrome Skin again:
http://mybloop.com/go/CW5vwu
should be taken with an icon-size of 90%

but for opera 10 i have to work on it because addressbar and icons don't have same size.

hulixin08 28. December 2008, 17:58

Hi, hello:

Your chrome skin is very good. But the panel's is not skined.

I recommend that you Reference the "Winvista MSO2007 Blue" skin at "http://my.cn.opera.com/community/customize/skins/?show=upd" . You can do the same work base on this skin. I think the effect will be very good.

    Thanks

wengkaibin 1. February 2009, 12:04

I've changed the colour of backgrounds\pagebar.png to #D3E7FE and it looks more like Chrome:)

filosnet 2. February 2009, 09:16

On my Macbook this skin (tried 1.92 fox3 too) still shows the URL with some letters cut at the bottom... using icon size 90% and even if I change the toolbar font nothing changes. Any help?

nguyenhoang83 11. March 2009, 09:03

Hi slakyxp,

I do like your customized one with the buttons next to the address bar
(e.g: http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/3517/operachromeks1.jpg)
But foreward and back buttons are gone, can you help me to get them back in your version. I really appreciate that.

slakyxp 12. March 2009, 10:01

le_su14:
i think you are talking about fast forward and fast back buttons. but anyway, you can find all of the buttons this way:
-click on "Tool", "Appearance", "Buttons"
-There you have different categories. in "browser" are the buttons you are looking for. simply drag and drop them into the bar, where you want them to be.

I hope I could help you.

SgtTurdMiner 4. August 2009, 20:39

I'm getting a line through all the tabs, and the adress bar is cut off at the bottom:
http://files.myopera.com/SgtTurdMiner/files/Untitled-2.png

mrmot983 6. August 2009, 10:29

I really like this skin, great job! red radio buttons are a nice touch

Fringemiki 29. August 2009, 15:15

This skin is almost perfect! Good job!!!

Mastermind1 3. September 2009, 19:58

Still looks good. But in Opera v10 it does not show the DOTS on tab bars indicating that a page has loaded. Is this by default? will you change this?.

DanielHendrycks 12. September 2009, 14:03

Tabs should be wider, get rid of the trash can with the new closed tabs button. Also get the new panel icon. Resizable search field toggle is uncentered.

I love it but needs a little work.

Nacho353 16. September 2009, 21:25

Wow, really good. But, in mac at least, the url-bar is too thin.
I want it wider so when I but an "unfinished" button (I mean, like the backward and forward ones) it fit perfect.

Also the loading bar is really ugly (sorry). I want one that look like when you put a search engine in chrome but as a loading bar (duh). The best example I could find is tango cl: http://my.opera.com/community/customize/skins/info/?id=3465

Please fix these things.

Thanks!

exde601e 18. September 2009, 18:29

great work! I love this theme!
there is a small bug in Opera 10: with the menu bar hidden, clicking on the menu button opens the menu in the middle of the screen instead of underneath the button, to the left.

DanielHendrycks 19. September 2009, 21:27

DanielHendrycks 19. September 2009, 21:30

tytyty 24. September 2009, 14:46

To DanielHendrycks & exde601e:
Thanks for your suggestions. I made some changes, pls try again, thanks.

tytyty 24. September 2009, 14:54

To DanielHendrycks,
My browser toolbar's font is different with yours, perhaps you can do some changes in the skin.ini file.

[Dropdown Skin]
....
Padding Top= 2
Padding Bottom= 2
...

pinhaomega24 24. September 2009, 17:43

your new skin version is awesome!
congratulations and thanks!

konic 24. September 2009, 17:52

"Close Tab" and "Close Panel" icons do not fit into the theme, -
shadow is too .. much.
And "Close Panel" is too ... sharp.

DanielHendrycks 26. September 2009, 15:32

Nice improvements. Here is feedback for 2.3.

http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/9973/14481259.png

DanielHendrycks 28. September 2009, 23:20

Nice improvements in 2.4. Scrollbar could look better though. (I am picking at this skin because lots of people use this skin, just trying to help)

pusetriu 14. October 2009, 08:18

hi)
your skins is very nice, but I wanna ask, can you create google chrome skin with grass, it's so cool and ralaxing, I use sometimes a chrome browser, because on this green grass I feel like siting somewhere in the park or somewhere in nature... I ask, because like opera use like browser, it's my favorite))
thanks a lot you read

DanielHendrycks 19. October 2009, 21:42

Tabs seem a bit jagged still :frown:. The panel icon has sharp edges.

rjleenstra 8. November 2009, 10:43

Great skin, and stylish scrollbar too! The only wish i have remaining: could u make highlights in the toolbar "start bar" items as well?
