Fantastic, my good man! I'll nab your version here and see if I can slimmy it down some more (unless you want to

Jurgi 4. September 2009, 12:38

Nice, but…
I have changed icon size to 80% and it looks the same…

Bill_P 4. September 2009, 22:20

thank you, been waiting for the skin to be slimmed

Staretz 5. September 2009, 14:26

Having a 10" Net-book slim is highly appreciated.
However, I was surprised NOT to see the delightful Speed Dial Background displayed in your example.

OakdaleFTL 5. September 2009, 21:58

One small problem: with tabs placed at the bottom, the Closed Tabs icon doesn't appear — its field is too small…

Otherwise, great job! (As usual.)

Mescalero 5. September 2009, 22:30

Great, I've been waiting for this!
But speed dial state 2 won't work with this skin. The thumbnails don't display. Is there a different way to get rid of "What is speed dial" etc?

vladrodr 6. September 2009, 03:33

It`s great for small screens, like the netbooks. (excuse my bad english).

Es grandioso para pantallas pequeñas como las de las netbooks, yo tengo una Acer Aspire One y le calló de maravilla este skin. Gracias Tamil! Good Work.

Micky 6. September 2009, 23:07

I like it, very efficient, no need for hiding Menu bar anymore, thanks man!

One problem is still bothering me: when i have more than 60 tabs opened it becomes very hard to select right one. If you hover over one small tab you can see that next tab is selected when near border... Is this fixable?

I have added link to Speed Dial background.

It apperas for me. Screenshot?

This is side effect of hiding Speed Dial number. Delete [Speed Dial Thumbnail Number Label Skin] section from skin.ini inside zipped skin file or see workaround in bottom of this post.

I will check it.

HandyRandy 8. September 2009, 03:05

Tamil, I love the Speed Dial, but I prefer my theme for everything else. How do I add your Speed Dial to my theme? From the looks of it, I unzip the two themes merge them appropriately, then just zip them again like a normal zip.....right?

Well assuming that's straight, what files etc. are responsible for Speed Dial? Thanx.

This is my first time manually tweaking an Opera skin, but I am very savvy with computers.

Micky 8. September 2009, 09:11

@Tamil:
  • "I will check it." - c00 skin is pixel perfect when hovering over tabs.
  • Is it possible to bring yellow attention color to items in 'Ctrl+Tab' area like it was in 9.x ?
  • If Tab Bar is full of tabs and you place 'Fixed spacer' on it, it should open new tab when you double click it. Is it possible to achieve this?
  • 'Full Screen' icon looks weird with so small button. I replaced it with old 9.x icon that is smaller and it looks better now.
  • I also repainted menubar.png and statusbar.png to one uniform color (without gradient) so that readability of both bars is increased.
This is result (notice that color of Menu Bar reflects upper color of active tab).

I can send you all three files if you want to try.

Nice Skin♪

Iron84 9. September 2009, 11:37

Awesome! Been waiting for this!

rseiler 9. September 2009, 17:41

Thanks.

Can you excise the blue dots? The yellow attention color is perfect, and the blue dots are completely superfluous (not to mention an eyesore and confusing, located between tabs).

Chas4 10. September 2009, 03:21

rseiler 10. September 2009, 05:32

Answer to my question:
-Choose Pagebar folder in skin zip
-Choose Top folder (or Bottom or Side if you've moved your tab bar)
-Extract:
pagebar_button_hover.png
pagebar_button_inactive.png
-Rename extracted files to (respectively):
pagebar_button_attention_hover.png
pagebar_button_attention.png
-Drag them back into the same folder and overwrite

rseiler 10. September 2009, 05:35

Next question: Is there some trickery to get the Close "X" to appear only on the active tab, like FF and IE?

shiyon 10. September 2009, 06:18

great one..!!
I have only customised mainbar and tabbar right now and got more room with this skin.. thanks a lot..!!
By the way Tamil, what is that 'green tick icon' seen at the right side of the tab bar?

mitchman2 10. September 2009, 06:50

A few comments:

- If you use dual monitors, the negative margin of the pagebar tail will force the menu button menu off the screen.
- The skin doesn't fall back to the standard skin but instead includes all images from the standard skin, even if they are not replaced. Skins should not do this.

You can't view yellow in white background.

Comment the following line under [Pagebar Close Button Skin] section.
Tile Center = pagebar/close/close.png

I'm doing this purposely due to some issues.

True, it was blue in 9.x. Maybe bold yellow would be fine?

Hm, maybe same yellow color for 'Drop Insert' markers?

That does the job but creates a "phantom X" problem, where Opera wastes space for text on the tabs that don't have the X (first image). Is there any workaround for that? I don't understand how Opera doesn't make a single X at least an option. It's not like people don't expect it.

rseiler 13. September 2009, 02:07

Oops, looks like posts can't be edited.

jpolak 15. September 2009, 19:48

what is the green point button on the right top, near the undo closed tabs button ? Thanks.

AFAIK, no.

batchi 16. September 2009, 13:37

I've been using this skin for some time now, and I am glad to see it in Opera 10.

Thanks Tamil, not only for the skin, but also for all the help and contribution to Opera.

You are awesome!

daftmedic 20. September 2009, 15:44

can you tell me how to change the background of my Speed Dial?

Tamil 21. September 2009, 08:31

Ctrl+T > Configure Speed Dial (at bottom right hand corner) > Background image

oke 23. September 2009, 17:35

I seem to be the odd one out here but is it perhaps possible to make the drag bar [...] just one or two pixels wider?

It is quite time consuming to get the mouse precisely where you can drag it down

Tamil 24. September 2009, 11:43

You mean drag bar height? How often do you change height of tab thumbnails?

I agree, I probably use it only once or twice a day but it is very frustrating to find that one pixel. Two extra would make a world of difference. In any case, if you really want to save more space, there seems to be more than two pixels free below the button images but then it may look too crowded.

Tamil 28. September 2009, 10:58

  • Crop drag_scrollbar\dragknob-top.png and drag_scrollbar\dragbar-top.png from Opera Standard skin to required size and update them in Opera Standard 10 Slim skin
  • Modify the following in skin.ini file under [Boxes] section.
    Drag Scrollbar Knob = drag_scrollbar/dragknob-top.png

Aaahhh, wonderful!
Thanks Tamil, you're the man

serola 4. November 2009, 07:17

Wow! Absolutely best skin I have seen. Thank you Tamil for this  Only thing I would like to change is to get more contrast for buttons on address bar. Reload and home buttons are alright, but buttons like back, forward and new tab looks kind of pale to me.

serola 4. November 2009, 07:21

Correction: My mistake, back and forward are just alright. I just had no browsing history yet when writing my comment  However, some other buttons like new tab and login key still looks pale.

bachokocho 11. November 2009, 17:12

Hi Tamil,
can we expect a Win7 extra look
My favorite skin regardless the fact the buttons are not visible in most sites.
Congrats!

bachokocho 11. November 2009, 17:35

Please excuse my remarks about buttons! I ment different skin

Balfa 1. December 2009, 15:25

Wow, thanks for this skin. It's exactly what I'm looking for!
