Dropped by Google
This is not a request for help but a heads up. I recently discovered "Google Profiles no longer supports your browser [Opera]."
Four "supported" browsers are IE, FF, Chrome, and Safari. To have the useless Safari favored over Opera is perplexing. Chrome is self evident. This has to be an Amerocentric political decision by Google. What's going on?
At which point did you get that message?
I don't have a profile myself. I clicked on create one, but then I didn't continue through.
But yeah, Opera is not used a lot in the US (and some other countries). OTOH, Safari has a relatively big share there (a lot of Apple users). Perhaps Google doesn't see enough money in us to bother testing in Opera and/or doesn't like competition and would rather see Opera gone.
But they also have a lot of beta/testing websites and projects, where things don't really work perfectly in any browser. So you might give them some time to sort it out. Not that there's anything wrong with complaining to them, either.
