New Forum
I realize that it is a bit late to comment on the new format of the forum, but I must say that what I've seen of it so far isn't what I hoped that it would be. I particularly dislike the fact that the various boards are hidden from each other in different pages, requiring that I load each separately to know what's going on. Yes, there is still the buttons for today's and new posts, but so far they don't work. I've also noticed that the email notifications that I have from the old forum don't seem to work either, I just get a "Not Found" error, with a dumb monkey. The connection speed that I'm getting is horrible, but I hope that is also temporary. The only good thing that I have found is the new hardware forum.Saturday, 24. September 2005, 14:46:58

Hit the reload button (F5) you may have to try a couple times. The server monkeys are just having fun with you

Add this to user.css:
#myopera-forums #intro {display: none;}
Thanks....didn't work right-off but I'll keep playin' with it.

Jon von Tetzchner: The community is very, very important. Opera would not be where it is today if it were not for the community. We know that and we know that we must continue to work very hard to provide the best possible browser and Internet client. We will continue to listen carefully to what the community has to say and focus on what the community wants. Your wish is our command.
This is not a complaint (just a general observation) as I'm sure that Opera Staff are trying their best, but these new forums have now been online since the beginning of Sept 05' and now it is almost Oct 05' and there still seem to be many issues, ie:major 404 Server Monkey errors yesterday, speed on the forums is great one minute, then the next day slow...Time Stamp bugs, ect., ect...
Hopefully...these issues will be rectified for a reliable, fast, accurate Opera Community experience for all.

As I recall, when I first found these forums in January of 2001. It took months to get vBulletin running this well. There were less than 3,000 members when I joined, no blogs, no photo albums, just a forum and some help files.
I know that doesn't excuse anything, but I think they are doing pretty good so far.

1. Go to Preferences > Advanced > Content > Style options...
2. Enable My style sheet in author mode
3. Click Choose and select your user.css file.

I understand, and these new forums do offer a lot of features and when they are completely solid and reliable, it will be quite nice...
The forums members have been very helpful to me (as a new user of Opera), yourself, sgunhouse, ect, and many others...it's nice, informative Community...The direct inacteraction of Opera Staff, Developers, ect. here is fantastic...
I have new colleagues like alex p., and neeraj_deshmukh, and had to LOL at fammcdon's post above "being new to .css code workings". I had a site that was given to me by a German colleague who is a Moderator at a Aqua Emulation forum which was a customized DeviantArt Search site, and worked with both IE and Firefox, but not with Opera.
So I sent a copy of the link via a 'message' to neeraj, and he cam through with flying colours aa there was a fatal, but minor .css code error... using his keen knowledge, the site now works with Opera...
Having been a member @Mozillazine Forums (since the days of Pheonix 0.5), I am slowly getting many of my FF colleagues to try out Opera, and being mature individuals we never get caught up in the browser war kiddie games-lol!
P.S. My FF colleagues did however give me a good ripping on this thread-lol (Not regarding content, but Forum Server errors)

Yes..indeed.
Anyway, the new forum layout looks nice to me. But its hard to navigate and i really missed to see who online. Perhaps a symbol online/offline should appear at the bottom of members avatar together with registered,location,posts & PM. Just a suggestion,though

Yeah, though I would appreciate a bigger font size and not Arial font-type, as I'm on 1400x1050 screen resolution and I've to increase opera fora zooming to 120% for easy reading ...

WoW!, i never thought had a good repond from my senior m8's
@Tamil
Nah!, this is the highest (+100) rated i've ever seen before! LoL
@Glenn
See you around, dude!. But need to go now, will continue later.

Damn!, after seen those links. I thought you will rate this to 1 Billion or Trillon or so. LoL
Back to my original post.I still found adding the status online/offline below the avatar would be a great idea. Some advantage i see if we having some issue and need a fast repond/answer especially from the Opera Software ASA staff. Just look around find which staff/members online then send a PM. You're done!...just wait for thier respond.
Anyway, ATM.. i feel like nobody here be'coz we dont know who's online or offline?.... did you guys feel like what i feels now...emptiness!. Hello! anybody here..? em i alone here! LoL
Hopely they might consider this suggestion in future time.
cheers.

There are now so many sub-forums (for example the style council and many others) worth watching after that it has now become quite a burden [to follow so many] w/out subscribing to them [the forums!].

There has been an upgrade this morning, because the 'Subscribe to...' links have moved to the right of the page and have gotten an icon.

It's always nice to have inhouse hacks doing the work. ;>}
I'm not able to get anything on the front page of the forum this morning, except the 4 active topic boxes.
