I can't modify my user.css (blog)... again

I tried everything, when I delete the whole file it reappears after a few seconds :yikes:

Are you deleting the file with Opera closed? Did you clear your cache?

I could be wrong but I think he means he can't delete his user.css stored on the Opera community web site. It's the file which styles his blog when people view it.

Jakub, this is a problem with our parser. While I'm trying to fix this, could you please edit out the smileys within the attribute value in your latest blogpost. You can do this via the URL http://my.opera.com/Jakub81/blog/editpost.dml/17738 .

I'm having the same problem. Though very bizarrely, for a group I (and Jakub) moderate, the user.css was uploading fine, though the edit form would not show the CSS.

So for the group accounts user.css is uploaded but not shown in the edit box, and for user accounts user.css is not applied but IS saved to show in the edit box. I noticed that the user.css in my user account is an old file in my files root - I tried deleting it from the Files module and it said it deleted but it is still there...

hope we're not losing you too much hair fractal! :wink:

Fixed.

:confused: I'm not able to reproduce this. You're sure you are selecting to apply the stylesheet using the radio buttons below the input field, right? :wink:

OK, the group CSS now displays. so that fix confirmed.

Yep, "Use my custom style sheet together with the current "" theme" is selected. Now BOTH the group and the user accounts save changes, but the user.css is not updated. I checked by loading just the user.css, reloading it seperately to confirm. So currently I have:

#top2 {background: #000 url(http://my.opera.com/non-troppo/homes/files/avatar.jpeg) right center no-repeat!important;margin-right: 40px;}

this is what comes up in the edit box, and saving changes works, but in my user.css file http://my.opera.com/non-troppo/homes/user.css I have the old version:

#top2 {background: #000 url(http://my.opera.com/non-troppo/homes/files/avatar.jpeg) right center no-repeat!important;}

Note the margin-right is missing. So although the CSS looks saved in the edit box, it has not updated the actual user.css file.

My CSS in the text area here:
http://my.opera.com/Jakub81/account/usercss.dml

and the file here:
http://my.opera.com/Jakub81/homes/user.css

are different but it should be the same! Yes, I do select the right radio button and save it.
But it doesn't overwrite my user.css. It is saved in the textarea somehow though. This bug didn't happen a few days ago.

We're looking into the problem... We're a little baffled, but we think it might have something to do with caching.

Ah yes, of course. :rolleyes:

We've turned it off, so the correct user CSS files should now be served by the server. Seems to work fine in my own area.

Let us know if you still have problems. :smile:

Now it works, thanks.
I hope turning the caching off won't breake other things :wink:

Works here too. It seems your cache was not properly checking last-modified etc. BTW what is the point of your server-side cache, is it part of your proxy load balancer thingie?
