It would be like an antivirus When finish to install the software have to update.
Opera could sync a page with the list of extensions you have and then you sync in other computer and you'll get the list and only click on install at every one in the moment you need it, you don't have to do a search again.

It's very needed. I use Opera in only one computer, but with two OS, so I need sync. It would be very useful.

We need an extension list and each (synced) extensions preferences online, as for the extension file you'll only need the download link.

Each extensions has to be 'synchronizable' individually, as there are some extensions that you may want to keep on only one computer (netbook oriented exts?), or settings that you may want to have individually for each computer you use (separate tab vault lists?).

I think Opera Link may stores the download link of installed extensions and when synchronizing Opera installs them. Settings of extensions also can be synchronized with computers via Opera Link.

Chrome has it now? Wow o_o

Let's go Opera, mainly for SP extension, I lost my Speed Dial with the last Next build and it's boring you have to add the SP extension again each time this problem happens

FACT!
I'm using bit the SP extensions because when I have a problem in SP or I need to sync my files for another version, I can't sync my extensions

Today it's messed up. My 3 computers all have different extensions. I want them all the same.

Suggestion: The synchronised browser only needs to know which extensions are missing from this installation. Those could be downloaded and installed with a new button in Manage Extensions. E.G."Install missing extensions" This is not needed everyday and speed is not an issue.

It will be very convenient to sync the extensions between my work and home PC. Reinstalling the OS will not be a problem as well if most of the used browser data is stored in the cloud.

I had installed some speed dial extensions on one computer, and still had speed dial sync enabled, so my two computers kept conflicting with each other and removing the extensions. So I disabled it. This seems broken to me!

Did Opera Software even try Opera Extensions with Opera Link? I wouldn't believe them even if they told me. The thing is user hostile.

that does not make any sense, true always evaluates to true (thank you, captain obvious), the 2nd branch of the or would never be executed (which is good, because it would evaluate to false and terminate the loop)

@Rautamiekka: just your choice of language alone disqualifies you as a communication partner.

anyhow, @topic: +1, but it would also have to include the settings of the extensions (obviously).

Yea, syncing extensions and toolbar setup is something I really, REALLY need. It's not uncommon for me to do a clean install (snapshots, etc), but it's such a huge pain in the ass that I have to install the extensions and set them up every single time.

Sync options

I love Opera and am new and a great eMail client. But I have 3 other PC's and iPhone and a TouchPad (yes I know) and would love one source of truth for:

Bookmarks- xMarks get me very close but then I need to run a manual process to synce from another browser to Opera. I prefer to use O browser but I can't add bookmarks since its not automatic as with every other browser. Opera Link does not seem to support the realtime to other browsers. Or If I go away from all other browsers and just use Opera on all devices, then would My Opera keep all Bookmarks in sync?

Contacts- Again, I think that iCloud may be a major answer to connect my 2 outlooks but I would rather get away from Outlook and use opera. If iCloud is not an option, how about syncML. I am using a product called O-Sync and is a server for syncML and have it connected to my iPhone and getting contacts. Why can't I add Opera as a syncML service and sync Contacts. Even if I had to go to Google or whatever, I would just love to have 1 "Master" source for Contacts and feed Outlook, Iphone, Opera, Palm, etc.

Mail- I take it if I went away from Outlook on my personal PC and then had 2 versions of Opera Mail, IMAP would keep those in sync.

As I have pointed out in another thread, I use Opera in both Ubuntu and Microsoft's Windows 7: Home Premium, which makes keeping track of extensions between the two a real pain...

"+1" for extensions synchronization here, too.

devs please take note that syncing only extensions and not their configurations would solve only half the issue! lets use those obsolete opera unite servers for cloud storage of config data.

can you guys also sync speed dial search engine values (still defaults to bing), mail and !CHAT! accounts with #channel lists (do want), contacts?, preferences>homepage, preferences>shortcuts, maybe options for skin/theme sync
