Deleting mail attachments
Is there a way to delete an attachment from a received mail item (without deleting the item itself)? I always save attachments to an appropriate directory in the file system, so I have no need to keep a copy in the mail system - it just wastes space.I tried Attachments - Documents and deleted the item but the whole item was deleted, not just the attachment. In fact, I don't see the point of the Attachments folder except to list mail that has an attachment.
This is exactly what I've come here looking for. I've just searched for a way to do this and found nothing.
I have lots of e-mails with pics attached. I save the pics to a directory, but I don't want to waste lots of disk space, and I don't want to lose the message that went with the pictures. It's ridiculous that we can't edit e-mails. I sometimes want to change the subject title of an e-mail as well, but nothing can be changed as far as I am aware.
I hope the option is added in the future.

It's years we are awaiting for this feature, together with server-side rules. These seem to be low priority issues for the developers. And this is the reason why several Opera lovers, including myself, are not using M2.

Not being able to delete the attachments is one thing but I also can't delete attachments before sending the email either.

I just found this doing a Google search for the same subject! What I've been doing is redirecting my emails with the attatchments. All I do is click redirect, send the email to myself, but before hitting send, deleting the attatchments.
I end up getting the same message with the same time stamps, etc... just 2MB less each!
I was looking for a way to do this without redirecting, but I guess there is no way. Weird! Oh well, redirecting is fine for now. For me, anyway.
(Edit: I was having problems finding those emails in searches, I thought it was something wrong with redirecting, but found out my indexing files needed to be deleted and rebuilt! Whew! Found the solution here )
