Multiple from-lines from one account ?
Hello,I basically want to set up my Gmail which is already gathering several email accounts.
How can I set up multiple from-lines for different email addresses for just one account ?
I tried setting up something like : "firstemailaddress, secondeemailaddress" in the account general settings but it does not do the trick as it would on Mail.app on my Mac. i'd love to use Opera Mail though...

Opera doesn't support mail aliases/identities, so you can't do this.
You can create another mail account for each of the other email addresses (set the smtp username accordingly if needed). But, when you create the account, don't enter an incoming server and don't enter any login info. Instead, after the account is created, go into "mail and chat accounts" and edit the account. On the incoming tab in the account's properties, turn off "check for every" and "include this account when checking manually". You need to do that to prevent copies of your messages being fetched for each alias-like account you create.
Then, you'll have the multiple address in the from drop-down. Just note that even doing it this way, the correct from line mignt not be selected by default, so determine which one needs to be selected before you reply and make sure to select the right one in the compose page.
That's about all you can do. Search the wish list forum for threads on mail aliases and itentities.

oh ok thanks for your replies i'll try these steps then. I did do this earlier and instead I was looking for anoption to basically make the extra accounts inactive to just use the SMTP server but turning off those options will do indeed
