Huge memory usage after a while.
I've been using Opera on few platforms already including Windows, Linux and Mac. All of them share the same config, passwords since 2005. Mac version is the only one that works like crap. After few hours, up to 24h it becomes unusuable at all using over 2GB memory, eating everything what's left. It doesn't really matter how many tabs i have opened, can be 5, can be 25, same issue everytime. It was like that on MacOS 10.6.x series, nothing changed on Lion, currenty using 10.7.1. It rarely crashes tho, might work even days without a single one. Any solution to that one, i'd like to keep my stored data as well?Same here...
In the last months, nailing down my memory and resource problems, I've finally come accross the memory hogger of my iMac (at work): Opera (Build 1087 in this case). It's just RIDICULOUS.
Just booting opera (25 tabs, no matter if I tell it: 'use only 150 MB of memory' ), it just uses more than 2400 MB... W. T. F. ?
Photoshop/Xcode/Aptana/Eclipse become ABSOLUTELY UNUSABLE while Opera is alive...
Is it a known fact?

I guess so, but so far there seems to be no solution for that. I switched to the browser that doesn't even allow me to customize keyboard, but at least it works 10000 better than Opera currently and rarely goes over 300MB with over 20 tabs opened running for days. Hope it'll be solved soon so i'll be able to get back to Opera.
I wouldn't hold my breath, as this issue has been an ongoing one for years now! I don't know why the Mac version is so huge a memory hog & crashes daily, but it does..... And I would like to use Opera as my main browser, but simply can't...
I have to second this. Last time I restarted my Opera (now 11.52, build 1100), today for upgrade, I was looking at over 1Gb of memory usage. Now, open for maybe 30min, its already over 850Mb. Is there any way to top this? Disable... something? I have 20something tabs open, but if I recall correctly, closing some tabs doesn't bring the memory usage down. Would like to hear a word from Opera team, about ridiculously high memory usage...
