Petition for Opera Mini Video Streaming

<b>PLEASE SIGN BY COMMENTING BELOW IF YOU WANT OPERA MINI TO PLAY VIDEOS STRAIGHT FROM WITHIN OPERA MINI INSTEAD OF THE APP EXITING TO OPEN WITH NATIVE VIDEO STREAMER</b>

To whom it may concern within the reach of this post in the My Opera community

We the undersigned on this post ask for immediate attention to the request of video streaming. We agree that we can afford the costs of data used when streaming and we are well aware that Opera Mini the "service" of Opera Software aims to providing fast and cheap internet to millions all over the globe. We have been loyal users of Opera Mini and other Opera services and have always posted on these forums for wishlists of different Opera Services.

With all kindness we ask for direct video streaming within Opera Mini not the current way of streaming.

We understand that for any request we must post in the appropriate forum and post, hence we come with the same mentality by agreeing to this one thing which we believe needs immediate attention.

Thank you for years of wonderful browsing, we hope you continue with the good works you're doing.

Sincerely your,
Opera Mini Loyal User

Can you afford streaming via your internet device?

Sorry, you're wasting your time. The reason Opera Mini will never play any media (including animated GIFs) is because of the nature of how Opera Mini works.

1) When Opera Mini on your phone calls up a page, it sends a request to the Opera Mini servers for it to get the page you want.
2) The servers download and COMPRESS the page breaking any and all media on it.
3) The servers send back the compressed page which downloads and displays on your Opera Mini on your phone.

Even if the servers were given proper media support, the server compression would still break the media present on pages you call up. There's no option to turn server compression off. There will never be such an option either. I'm sorry.

No you're wrong, bolt can stream videos, i think opera can also do that. There's no limitation of imagination to programming java. Opera can and will make video streaming available if we sign in the petition.

but brother bolt has not any page compression technology as opera.bolt show original pages so it takes more data.

And that's the difference as to why Opera Mini can't play media. Bolt has a complete browser on phones. Opera Mini is a proxy browser with the Presto engine on the Opera Mini servers.

Also Opera Mini is called Opera Mini for a reason. If you gave media playing capability to Mini, then it would no longer be Opera Mini. The OP's request is more suited for Opera Mobile than Opera Mini.

Actually, bolt has a page compression technology and boasts that it is "nearly 1.5-2x better than the nearest competitor" (guess, who? wink ).

till now only opera mobile 11.1 android supports flash player
get an android phone
opera mini 6.1 is mainly used in java phones so these phones does not have a good processor like smartphones... so running flash, animations will be extremly slow and it will freeze or crash...so its never gonna happen
