Possible reason is that JavaScript is disabled in your configuration. To enable JavaScript: Menu -> Settings -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Content -> Enable JavaScript.
Then you can try another thing. Directory "C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\opera\Opera" contains Opera settings (replace [username] to username on your system). If you will delete it - this will reset Opera to default config. Maybe, this will solve issue with extensions. Two notes:
1) You may need to do backup of important Opera things (for example, bookmarks) before removing that directory.
2) Windows explorer may not show that this path exists. In this case type path manually in location bar (or copy/paste it).
