xp and unicode, not good friends?
hi,i'm using the latest 1065 build, but the problem is that tifinagh (amazigh characters, aviable from unicode 4.1) dont display in xp, i've installed the fonts, and it worked on firefox, but right now, am using a pc which has Seven and it worked! so does the problem come from XP?
check the page to test:
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipédia:Unicode/Test
http://www.alanwood.net/unicode/tifinagh.html

Hello, I have a Windows XP SP3 computer here. Now for testing, can you give me screenshots of what you see on Windows XP with Opera 12 build 1065 vs. what you see on Windows 7 with Opera 12 build 1065 when you use the testpages mentioned by you?
EDIT: the second testpage mentioned by you (http://www.alanwood.net/unicode/tifinagh.html) states that "The Tifinagh range was introduced with version 4.1 of the Unicode Standard, and is located in Plane 0, the Basic Multilingual Plane." Opera 11.50 supports Unicode 4.1 and even greater Unicode 5.1 or 5.2 I think. So I definitely need a screenshot for this.

now am not on xp machine, am a seven one, and it displays ok,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tifinagh
on my xp machine, the tifinagh characters are displayed as squares, in the wikipedia they put a picture and the character to compare, and yesterday when i've downloaded the 1065 because i've seen that now Unicode 6 is supported, so i've tried to test it on XP but it seems that it dident work (the squares)
so does this updates only work for Seven?
Edit: not only the tifinagh is the problem, but also it happens in Tibetan http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_Tibetan

OK, then I confirm this. Windows XP is not quite friendly with Unicode. This is a test page for Tifinagh font. But you can have Tifinaghe on Windows XP!!! There is software available for that. On the above test page I provided click the second link ( or use Direct download link) and it will give a ZIP file, save it. The ZIP file contains an installer, execute it. If you don't understand the language of the installer, the button with an Arrow ( > ) is for Next and the button next to it is for Cancel. If it asks for Yes and Nos then the first button is always Yes and second button will always be No. Good luck.

thank you for the tip
but the problem is not from XP, because it works with Firefox, i think the Unicode test made on Opera was on Seven? because the version works great on seven, but xp, sadly nothing
and thank you again for the link
