Open the Opera menu: Toolbars: and disable Personal bar.

It was disabled. So I abled it and an identical bar appeared at the top of the screen (this one can be removed).
I will re-install and see if it works.

EDIT:
I re-installed and the bar wasn't there anymore. smile

The one below the address bar is called the "Bookmarks Bar" (aka personalbar inline")

I would like to get the Personal-Bar, now known as Bookmarks-Bar, just below the Menu-Bar, as it was in former versions of opera. Can I achieve that?

  1. Open the customise appearance dialogue, toolbars tab.
  2. Show hidden toolbars while customising.
  3. Disable the Bookmarks bar (aka personal bar inline).
  4. Set the placement for the Personal bar at the top.

I do not have "Personal bar". Only Bookmarks Bar. (v 11.52)
After enabling "Show hidden" there is a bar just below the main and menu bar with bookmarks, but in the list it seems not to be named. Bookmarks Bar is top.

That is the personal bar. Place it at the top, and disable the bookmarks bar. Not all toolbars are named on the dialogue — there's not enough space. There's about twenty different toolbars.

Thank you very much for your help.
It took a little time to find out that I have to click on the bar I want and then set the placement on top, but finally...

Hello all,

I also miss the traditional personal bar! I did what you suggested, but could not move the personal bar when all bars are unhidden!

I have disabled the bookmarks bar!

This is Opera 11.52 in Linux (Ubuntu 10.04)

Thanks for any assistance!
