Help I blew it up

I have had Opera on my computer for several years. A couple of days ago I was clicking around and blew away my tabs option. I have no idea of what I did, but I can only open one window at the time. I deleted and re loaded this afternoon, but it came back the same.

I search but could not find an answer.

I want to be able to add tabs and have my home page as well as new ones available like old.

thanks for the help.

Crtl+F12 > Advanced > Tabs > aditional tab options > Uncheck "open windows instead of tabs".

It seems that i didn't undesrtand the problem correctly.

So you can't create a new tab? What happens when you try to create one?

It opens a new window on top of the existing, without the ability to go back to my start page, which is my I-Google page.

I was trying to figure out what had happened and added open tab button to the bar on top.

Is there a default setting that I can reset it to zero default. I don't use Opera much but have maintained a copy for years on my computer.

Yesterday when I deleted it, I was hoping it would reload a default install, but went back just like the deleted one.

Do you mean you want to reset your preferences? See http://my.opera.com/operafan2006/blog/2008/08/08/how-to-reset-opera-back-to-factory-deafult-setting-profile-reset

I usually can work out issues by digging around, but this one is like a wing of the house was cut off and hauled away.

I was trying to figure if I could reset Opera back to default brand new out of the box. When I downloaded and re-installed it yesterday it was just like the copy that I deleted.

I deleted it again, this time I went through docs & settings to delete the saved portion. I reinstalled it and without that d&s info it is working like it should.

I didn't have to do a lot to get what I needed back.

thanks for the help.
