"Hide" the Friend button

Does the "Add x as a friend" - button need to be on front page of everyone's blog?

In my option that button should only be on About page, no need for it elsewhere.

I have accidentally clicked it few times when trying to press Subscribe to blog button and today in a hurry I managed to press it instead of About page link p Noticed it right after pressing the button, but too late to stop it. Pretty annoying to get random friend requests, even more annoying is to accidentally send one out yourself.

Could probably have userJS or userCSS to hide it ...

I have occasionally clicked it when I was trying to ban someone (I won't go into details here), but I figure it doesn't much matter then ... he'll never be able to accept anyway. p

But would that also hide it on the About page? We only want to hide it on the other pages ...

I dunno I used it on my about page then re-enabled it. Now however I get usually a small amount of visits and that I don't want the page to be re-evaluated by some maybe non-friend, but anyway options page can have done no harm.bigeyes

@Tamil or anyone else. Can you please give us CSS (to be included in my site CSS) to hide that "Subscribe to RSS Feed" button at the blog front page? It's wasting the prime space near the top of page.

PS
The button's gone. Thanks a lot, Tamil.
BTW Is it possible to eliminate the empty space/line below "Write a blog post" button?

Challenge accepted.

No, really, the RSS button doesn’t really take more space, as it’s shown inline for logged in users. For logged out users, it’s a bit more intricate, as we want visibility. The decision of always showing it for the blog owner is questionable. Theoretically, the “Write new blog post” button could also be shown in that cluster. Not sure if it’s too many buttons for it to fit, though. *shrugs*

Is it? In my case, it takes up another line as thick as the "Write new blog post" button line above. I've hidden the button itself but the p class="button" tag for the line is still there below the one for "Write" button and taking up vertical space.

Isn't it better if the RSS button is shown at the bottom or in the sidebar (isn't it where it used to be?) confused

[Addendum]
Here's the screenshot.

From a visitor's point of view, it is inline other buttons.

But it should be inline with the “Write a blog post” as that’s too much whitespace gone to waste! I’ll see if I can pull some strings! wink
