opera.exe bad image
Since installing Opera 11.51 (Build 1087, Windows XP), I have started having a problem when saving an image from a web page:Right click on image > Save image ...
results in an error message:
opera.exe - Bad Image
The application or DLL C:\Progra~1\Paints~2\PSP.exe is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.
Clicking on the OK button takes me to the 'Save as ' dialogue box and I can continue from there, as usual.
PSP.exe is an old version of Paintshop Pro that I find useful for drawing (not so) simple diagrams. It is not my system program for viewing jpg or other image files.
A search for "Bad image" in this forum yielded http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=11685, which seems not to be relevant to my problem.
TIA,
Mervyn Doobov
Opera does try to list all programs that are known to handle a given file type in the dropdown, my guess would be that the "DOS-style" folder names in the path are giving it problems. (I can't tell in your post but those should be tildes "~" rather than dashes "-" in the names.)
I might try using regedit to fix the path, though that would be fairly cumbersome.

Saving as? I'm talking about saving images in Opera. Last I checked, Opera doesn't do image conversion to other formats.
No, this was simply about saving any jpeg or gif or png. I have PSP3 installed, which is a Win16 program, and which is linked to these file formats.
The other format which displays this odd behaviour is a game archive format (Command & Conquer .mix) which is linked to a DOS program, leading me to believe the issue is related to file formats linked to 16-bit programs in general.
