how do i Merge Bookmarks with Firefox

Hi,

Is there a way to merge my firefox bookmarks together with my opera ones? I want to keep all folder structures, just like when you copy/paste folders and files in windows.

my firefox and my opera bookmarks have many folders/subfolders with the same names, but some of the files are different.
i don't want a serperate bookmark folder called "imported firefox bookmarks"

thanks

I haven't tested this, but you may be able to do it with Opera Link's remove duplicate feature.

  1. First, backup your bookmarks (see the tool in my sig or just copy your bookmarks file)
  2. Move all of your folders and bookmarks out of "Imported Firefox Bookmarks" into the root folder
  3. Synchronise Opera
  4. Remove your duplicates

If I have understood it correctly, this will merge bookmarks from folders with the same name.

There are also third-party tools like AM Deadlink that will remove duplicates and check for dead links.

THX that works. After removing duplicates on the website my opera browser bkmarks menu updates right away to reflect the changes.
