pages won't load, get gobbledygook instead

Starting last night I can't load pages in Opera. I have cold re-booted and still the problem remains.

I try to load a page and I just get black type on a white background that is random letters and symbols down the page. Other browsers are working fine.

I have the latest version (11.51). Should I uninstall and reinstall? Anyone see this (I can't find any references to it)?

Also, I don't know if this is related, but Opera has been suddenly poofing several times a day since the last couple of updates. Without warning and without anything I can determine is a pattern or specific sites, it suddenly shuts down in an instant. It immediately starts to open again, and asks me if I want to send an error report to Opera, every single time I tell it yes, it takes a long time and then tells me there is an error. So I haven't been able to send error reports for it.

Thanks for any help.

It sounds like you need to uninstall and do a fresh install, or install opera in a new folder.

I'm having the same problem with "gobbledygook" It looks like this.

I've already uninstalled and reinstalled but it only fixed the problem for a short time then the problem spontaneously returned.

I've checked the encoding which is set to automatic. My other browsers are working fine.

Any ideas?

Never mind.... I fixed it by doing a profile reset. seems to be working now.

I'm having the same problem. I just uninstalled the .2 version and installed the newest version, but it did NOT solve the problem. I don't know how to reset the profile (if there even is one since I uninstalled the old one which had been working just fine until yesterday).

Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi. I've had the problem on three separate computers. Have disabled Opera Turbo and everything seems fine

I have this problem on 4 computers. This includes a brand new Windows 7 computer.

I turned off the Opera Turbo and the problem went away on this machine immediately.
