How to disable the phone's directional arrows?
Hi, I'm trying to help somebody of the Opera Brasil blog with her cellphone.It's a simple problem that I couldn't find the solution by searching the Web, and actually Opera Software should do something about it.
She has a Samsung Corby II but the thing is certainly present on almost all Samsung touchscreen phones such as other Corbys and Jét.
There are some directional arrows that are enabled by the phone to almost all Java applications that serve as a cursor for games for example since the phone has a touchscreen and no physical keypad. It's really unnecessary and unwanted since it takes up screen space. Here's a screen I got from the another unsolved Corby topic:
So, how to disable them? It might require editing the .jad/.jar file... And of course, Opera should tweak the OM version of these phones for all users...
And I'd like to point also that there's no Corby II (GT-S3853) on the page that let you download Opera via your PC so I had to point her the GT-S3653 Corby version. And you say GT-S3653W Corby WiFi can only run 4.3, really?

use the default mobile browser to download from m.opera.com
if ur phone is not detected then download the .jar from ur computer(the one u downloaded)
then open the .jar file with winrar (if not having download it)
after u hav opened it with winrar there will be a folder called metainf
go in this folder there will be a file called manifest.mf open this with notepad
then copy the below lines in the notepad
LGE-MIDlet-Height:480
LGE-MIDlet-Width: 240
then save and copy the .jar in ur phone and install
opera mini will be fullscreen!!!
if ur phone is not detected then download the .jar from ur computer(the one u downloaded)
then open the .jar file with winrar (if not having download it)
after u hav opened it with winrar there will be a folder called metainf

Download Samsung corby from
your computer
then...

software which opens rar files.
2.open the .jar with Winrar (
http://winrar.en.softonic.com )
3. You will see a folder named META-
INF. Open this folder and you will
have a file called MANIFEST.MF.
4. Double click on the file and open

add the following lines below the
existing lines.

LGE-MIDlet-Width: 240
NOTE:#(if 480 is bigger try putting
the value as 400 instead of
480,first try 480!!!!! )

I understood from start actually, I was just asking why have you picked and higher height than the device's screen. I don't have a Corby II to test here so I need to know it'll work fine for the girl whom asked me.

I remove those arrows on my Samsung S5620 Monte but now I have new problem.
When I want to download something via Opera mini there is no option "aks once", so I have to tap "always ask" every second.
Where I can find signed version of opera mini for download to PC end editing?
PS: Sorry for my bad english.
