Akkhara

Dear Bhante,

Thank you so much for all of your work on Unicode fonts. They are an excellent resource.

I'm wondering what happened to Akkhara. I don't see it listed any more. I had been using it as my main font and wanted to recommend it to friends. Has it been replaced by something identical under a different name?

Related to that, I am finding that now that I use LibreOffice, when printing it doesn't seem to be able to do bold correctly. I see that I don't actually have a real bold version of Akkhara so that may be the problem.

With gratitude,
BKh3

It was based on Gentium, but development was so slow on the bold version that I gave up working on it. My bold version really wasn't good enough, and I never got around to developing a bold italic style.

Dear Bhante,

Thank you. Ironically, I have always had problems using Gentium on Open Office. After I got it working and set up font substitutions it seemed alright. But then I switched to LibreOffice and now it's not working again. Do you have advice for an alternative to Gentium?
