All Messages folder replicates old received messages' headers everytime Opera starts

"All Messages" folder replicates old received messages' headers received via IMAP everytime Opera starts.

I'm using Opera for more then 6 years, but this issue appeared only about a month ago.

The older a message header is, the more times it's replicated. The oldest message header from May 2009 is replicated 27x, thus the Opera starts everytime slower and slower.

I have 5 mailboxes, which are used via Opera's IMAP, but the headers are duplicated only in one of them.

All mailboxes are running under different domains, but are stored on the same mail server.

The number of all e-mails / headers in all mailboxes is 2232, but the All Messages folder shows 26314 e-mails / headers.

Welcome to the My Opera community!

If all you have is IMAP (no IRC, no feeds, no newsgroups, no POP) and don't have a bunch of labels, you can close down Opera and delete the mail folder. Then, when Opera starts up, just add the IMAP accounts back in. That will rule out any problems with Opera's mail files. Just goto "Menu -> settings -> import and export -> export Opera contacts" and then delete all your contacts. Then, when you're all done add the IMAP accounts back in, import your contacts back.

That would be the best way to do it.

If you do have POP accounts, you can follow this for your POP accounts and feeds first. Then add the IMAP accounts back in.
