Left alt+shift does not change language in kiosk mode

I am using Opera in kiosk mode on a locked down station. The only problem I have is that the change language key sequence (left alt+shift) does not work (seems to be blocked by kiosk mode). Changing the Windows language key sequence to alt+shift works.

Does anyone know how to get the left alt+shift combination to work in kiosk mode?

Strange, usually "Alt" refers to the left Alt key (if they are treated differently on your system), people call the right Alt key either "right Alt" or "AltGr" (on older keyboards, the left key was white and the right key was gray).
