Important feedback (real world user) about the new error page

I don't know if I've chosen the right forum to post this, but since it's a recent change made to Opera I decided to post it here, I hope you really value it.
Actually it's to do a hard critic on the new error pages introduced on 11.10 (OMG, it's older than I though, but I only noticed how really bad it's now). The page is the one "which shows when you request an illegal address, or any non-existent domain, etc".

Now the real world: the page is shown also when you lose connection or it's very bad / drops for a second and that causes a lot of problem.
First when I saw this new page I just thought: where's my link pointing exactly to the typed address that failed to load so I can click on it? I know the address exist, it was just my connection as aways and I just need to retry... But there's a search field there, lol for searching the address with Google! Ok, but it's just a little thing that I don't need to bother Opera with and I can press Enter since the address field is focused - I thought - and then I found out I could disable the search field on Opera error page and I've done it and calmly got my link back. smile

But...
Last week I was at my cousin's house and he uses Opera too. He's definitely not tech-savvy (the public you're targeting with the new facility to find the Webpage via search - which seemed a good idea for these users - right?), and well, he likes Opera a lot since I'm aways talking about it. :My Opera needs a "shy" emoticon:
His connection is very bad, it's GPRS and the speed is variable from 20 Kbps to 200 Kbps (note that it isn't KBps) and drops also. Then we were there and he wanted to do a search on Google, he typed the query and the page opened and then he clicked on Images to get image results but the connection didn't help.
Opera displayed the error page and guess what was inside the search field? Something like this: http://www.google.com.br/search?client=opera&rls=pt-BR&q=something+like+this&oe=utf-8&channel=suggest&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&hl=pt-BR&tab=wi&biw=1280&bih=902
And he clicked the search button!!! Which would make a search on Google for the address above if I didn't alerted him to use Enter on the address field on that case.

So, IMO this need to be fixed. The old behavior was better...
I see the search feature is good with its suggestions if the page really doesn't exists but when it exists the "system" get broken! p
Perhaps you could make an error page that would combine both the "try again" action and the search field/suggestions but in a way it empathizes the first (the "try again" action).

Extra: There's also something very bad on this search field. Although my default search isn't Google the search field on the error page is Google and can't be changed. o

Annoying, definitely needs to be changed.

He's not saying that either, he's saying that the page needs a "Retry" button on it in addition to the search ... though most of us know better and would hit the Reload button in the toolbar or press F5.

Then I have edited my post.

Oh, I thought he was saying that the previous way was better and if this new way seems better, then there should be a slightly different error page for lose connections causing occasional one-second Internet connection drops which has options suited for loose Internet connections problem, for example, option to Reload the page as you mention.

Hehe, don't take so serious the 1 second drop, I mean, a drop of more time will cause the error pages also. p
Ah, and I forgot to mention it could be caused by the Website's server being very busy too (another example where retry is better than search).

I'm initially suggesting that both options (retry and search w/ suggestions) may stay on the page, visually giving more prominence to the retry one.

It would be nice if they could simply check if the network is down - a search won't work then anyway.
