Site Meter counter?
Hello everyone,Since we no longer have HitLink or whatever that counter was called, I thought I would give Site Meter a go.
This means I need to embed some code on my blog. But ON my blog, not IN a blog post or a sticky post.
There is a java script code and a HTML code. They say the java script is harder to add to a page...
Now, I have no idea how I can add it to my page. On the Site Meter website there are instructions on adding these codes to blogging platforms but My Opera is not listed there. Does anyone know how I can add it to my page? Please note: I added it to my sticky post but this is wrong! It then only counts visits to my sticky post....which is now 'private' so no one can see it anyway.
For example, if using BLOGGER, you would do the following:
Select the HTML code in the box (below) with your mouse.
Copy it to the clipboard.
(Press the CTRL key and the letter C at the same time.)
Login to Blogger.
From the dashboard, click on the Layout link for your blog (the link may also say Template on some dashboards).
On the "Add and Arrange Page Elements" page, click on the Edit HTML link.
On the "Edit Template" section, you will want to scroll to the very bottom and find the </body> tag.
Paste the SiteMeter HTML right above the </body> tag.
Press the Save Template button to add SiteMeter to your blog.
Press the View Blog button. The SiteMeter logo should be visible on the bottom of your page.
Do we have anywhere such as 'page elements' where I can put one of these codes? I really miss the counter and being able to see how people find my blog and where they are from!
Thanks and sleep well to most of you:)

Fran: Bernard? Finished with your accounts?
Bernard: Yes. I've turned them into a rather smart casual jacket.

That's useful.
I could put it into the 'suggestion box' only to be told it wont work blah blah, so I wont bother.

Another question.....
Is there a way to back up my blog data? Ie all of my blog posts?
I'm thinking when I am an old lady, I may want to read them and I don't know if my blog will still be here in 50 years.
Is the only way to do this, copying and pasting each blog post?

- Go go blog settings page.
- Change number of posts per page to 50 and save.
- Go to your blog.
- Save or print with PDF software.
Personally, I backup all my posts in Opera notes.
