Make google+ notifications work

I'm not sure what plugins/APIs/whatever it requires, but on other browsers you can receive google+ notifications in the top right corner of any google site. Can we make this happen?

1) this is not a bug report forum
2) masking as firefox shows at least the button, though the popup still shows a "you use an old browser" message ... so I guess it's mostly google blocking Opera again.

I am grateful to XP1. It's so kind of him for creating that extension. XP1 has created some extensions/UserJS for Opera related to Google.

2. Google+ Injector - https://addons.opera.com/en/addons/extensions/details/google-injector/1.4-0/?display=en

-_- I don't consider it to be a bug, otherwise I would have reported it as one It's a missing feature. Opera frequently is just incompatible with random things (like this) on the web.

Mind you Opera is incompatible with no website. It's those websites who sniff and exclude Opera puposely.

Yeah. You should technically be filing a bug report, yes... but at Google.

Regardless of the back and forth on this thread, it would be great if Opera worked natively with Google+ notifications. Because it doesn't currently, I am forced to use Chrome in parallel to my Opera session. Forcing me to another browser is the last thing that Opera wants to be doing.

Doesn't seem to be a bug, so maybe someone could add the functionality i.e. a feature request?

If Facebook didn't work on Opera because it wasn't 100% standard compliant, who would give first?

Respect to XP1 for creating the extension which works well and proves that it can be done...

The back and forth is a separate thing, also you are ironically contributing to it by posting the complain here and not at Google, where it belongs. Opera is not forcing you to switch to another browser, Google is (hint: notice how you are using theirs?).

That is a feature Google specifically blocked from Opera browsers until recently, because THEY couldn't get it to work. If you were to, say, make Opera "Identify as Firefox", it would appear, but be nonfunctional. However, this is moot, now, as they appear and work perfectly. I vote that this topic be closed/locked/whatever.
