Flash does not accept keyboard letters.
Opera browser seems to need a setting or else there is a bug. I cannot enter text from the keyboard into a flash form. Typing any letter enters a number counting the keyboard strokes and no text. 1,2,3,4 etc. Does any other user have this problem?See the crossword flash at URL: http://puzzles.usatoday.com/ .
Interestingly, if I type immediately the flash opens (got to be quick), I can type one letter then it is numbers.
I would like Opera as my default browser but clearly I cannot. Is there a remedy?
I have reloaded Flash after completely deleting the program. Opera is running on Windows 7 professional.
No change. Don't know if it is Flash or Opera but all other Browsers work fine.
Using Shutterfly.com for a photo album. The keyboard registers only digits on this site too. New information: when I use the shift key, the 'text' becomes the upper function symbols in order --- !@#$%%^&*() . The lower case letters of the alphabet are 123456789012345678 etc.
Safari, IE, Firefox all work fine with website Flash (Shutterfly and USA Today Crossword) but not Opera. How can this happen? I am not a computer person and don't understand how one browser can do this.
I am about to abandon Opera for the default browser although I like many of the features.
I appreciate your response your postings. Thank you. I found no help anywhere else on the Internet.

This may have help you resolve your problem as well. Even if that information doesn't "fit" directly, the concept of software that may be sitting (unrealized or maliciously) between the keyboard and what gets displayed on a browser under some circumstances might play into your situation.

Opera 12.14u (1738), 11.52 (1100) & 10.63 (3576) running on various Windows systems from Win7-64 down through KernelEx4-modified Win98FE (proof that reports of Win98's demise are greatly exaggerated).
