You are not authorized to view this page without ever getting to enter password
I recently created a site for a robotics team that I am on, and I am hosting it on my families windows home server. So that other teams cannot access the site, I setup a password for the site, and when I access it using Firefox, Chrome or IE on our windows 7, I am asked for the user name and password, I enter them and it works fine. But in Opera I am presented with the following page as soon as I visit the site. Any ideas why?You are not authorized to view this page
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied because your Web browser is sending a WWW-Authenticate header field that the Web server is not configured to accept.
Please try the following:
Contact the Web site administrator if you believe you should be able to view this directory or page.
Click the Refresh button to try again with different credentials.
HTTP Error 401.2 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to server configuration.
Internet Information Services (IIS)
Technical Information (for support personnel)
Go to Microsoft Product Support Services and perform a title search for the words HTTP and 401.
Open IIS Help, which is accessible in IIS Manager (inetmgr), and search for topics titled About Security, Authentication, and About Custom Error Messages.
Thanks,
Jack
Out of interest what about if you embed the username you wish to use in the url, e.g. if you were connecting to http://myserver and wanted to use the username jag3498 to authenticate, then try http://jag3498@myserver. Does this force the authentication dialog?
