Can't read PDF file in secure webpage, wrongly says no plug-in installed
Hi All,Couldn't find anything similar anywhere else...
My bank has internet banking on a secure connection, statements are displayed as PDF files within the browser.
That is, statements are displayed in Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers, but Opera hasn't been able to display them yet, the webpage returns a message "I'm sorry, I can't find Acrobat Reader installed. Please download and install plug-in before viewing statement."
I've tried on 2 different computers, one running Windows XP the other running Windows 7. One had Acrobat itself installed, the other had Acrobat Reader installed. On both the Tools->Advanced->Plug-ins menu listed an Acrobat reader plug-in as being present "C:\Program Files\Opera\program\plugins\nppdf32.dll" (that was after I re-installed - before re-installation I think it pointed to a Firefox directory and a shared Firefox/Opera plug-in, from memory).
Opera can read PDF documents on other websites no problem, but not on my bank's website.
Any ideas? Are the bank writing improper HTML and should I be berating them, or is it an Opera problem. For once it looks like it isn't a Windows problem.
Thanks in advance,
Rob
