Opera.exe process does not actually quit even long after closing Opera..
When i bought my new PC i noticed that when i had already closed Opera , Battery care of high CPU consumption by some process and when i checked out task manager it was Opera drinking a lot of memory and CPU cycles.. Now that my windows was reinstalled due to a hard disk crash i can still find this issue .. No problems while running Opera.. but only when it is closed.. Is this caused by some extension or some settings..My guess is that there seems to be a problem with Opera link..

The problems of failure to shut down, rejuvenation and continuation of the Opera process, possible runaway Javascript code and episodic high CPU usage with requirement for manual termination to resolve are topics which have been raised in a number of threads in several of the forums. I don't run or enable Opera Link so I believe that's not the ultimate culprit, and while one or more extensions may figure into the causal mix it's still very unclear (to me, at any rate) whether that's actually the case.
Sorry you had the crash and need to reinstall the OS and your apps, but hopefully everything was backed up recently.

I have had this issues for quite a few versions of Opera. Sometimes it shuts down and sometimes it will be found running at 99% CPU usage hours later after being shut down. I have had this happen with just a "plain jane" stock install with no extensions or features activated. I have had it do this on 2 different computers (home and work) and I have really found no solution. I believe it started for me after version 10.
