[1076] Sites can avoid "Plugins on demand" feature
I enabled Plugins only on demand feature in Opera. Unfortunately, it often fails and objects start without my permission. There are different ways of embedding plugins:
1. Old <object> for IE + <embed> for Mozilla
2. New <object> for all browsers
3. Attached by JavaScript, e.g. SWFObject, document.write, DOM functions...
4. Embedding objects inside frames
Which one fails? I thought it was related to scripts, but I've tested some script-based object embedding methods. Plugins do not start automatically. However, I'm sure this bug occurs when objects are inserted by scripts (probably by DOM manipulations) and/or frames.
Objects that are "invisible" are not blocked. For the simple reason that you wouldn't be able to click on them afterwards. So I guess it would also fail if it was created hidden and then made visible.
AFAIK they are working on a solution for this problem, though...

Using Windows 7 64Bit SP1 and of course Opera
(If nothing else stated the most current weekly) on a nice Dell Studio XPS 16!

It's the same in Opera 11.51. So you can use the Opera browser forum to discuss this.
Windows 7 SP1 x86 edition and Windows XP Service Pack 3.
