Show Images

I have a slow and expensive Internet connection with a monthly cap of 1GB. I need to disable images by default and only load them on a case-by-case basis.

It used to work with previous Opera versions, now with 11.51 it is not working any longer. I disable the images from the menu, short afterwards they are active again. I set 'Show Images' to 0 in about:config,
after restart 'show images' is 3 again. I edit ini-files with an editor and set 'Show images' to 0. Opera ignores it.

Is there a way I can disable images by default? If not I'll have to move away from Opera after 5 years.

Preferences, Web Pages, Images, No images should fix it for all pages.

You can also try Opera Turbo mode. That should help to reduce bandwidth usage significantly.

Excellent, Pesala, your tip works! I cannot understand how I missed the obvious. Nor can I understand why about:config and editing ini-files fails.

Thanks a lot anyway!
