M2 sometime change the spelling of my login 'name' in SMTP server.

Hi all. he

It is strange I found once in a while when I press "SEND" email. Error box popup.
I press the detail of what & why the error. I found M2 change the spelling of my name in SMTP login in:

smtp server setting
myname@gmail.com (should be)
mynae@gmail.com (when error box pop up, and I press the details to see & found this)

Apparently, Opera M2 change the spelling (missing 'm') of my Login name.
How come so weird ?

My Opera is fresh install due to new net book machine purchased 1 month ago.

Thank you
Edmond

Not sure why that would happen. But, I'm not certain Opera changed anything. It could be the server being quirky and the error dialog is just showing what the eorr the server responded with. Or, the server could just be quirky and there's a bug in Opera just with the text of the error dialog and not the actual stored username that Opera uses.

I'd go into the account's properties and change the smtp username and password to something incorrect, ok out and close out of "mail and chat accounts". Then, I'd go back in and set the smtp server username and password to the correct values and ok out and close mail and chat accounts. Also, check that "mail address" on the general tab is correct. Also check that you don't have a contact for yourself that has your email address listed wrong. Then, I'd close Opera.

See if you get the problem again after that. If you do, I'd close down Opera and delete wand.dat in the preferences folder to delete all your passwords (for mail AND websites etc.). Then, I'd start Opera and retype the username and password for everything. That should rule out corruption of wand.dat.

Also, if this happens again, take note of whether Opera had been open for a really long time or not.

Also, turn on logging for the outgoing server so that when it happens again, you have a log of it, which may provide a better error message. You can then compare that with what you see in the error dialog to see if they both have the 'm' missing or if it's just the error dialog.
