How to Make a "To Do" View

Greetings,

Can any of you who are well-versed in Opera's mail client tell me the easiest way to make and use a "To Do" view?

In other words, what I am wanting to do is to clean out my "Unread" view by assigning emails that need to be replied to to a "To Do" view. That way I always keep my unread view clean, and at any time I can go to the "To Do" view and answer emails that need answering.

Can this be done? If so, what is the easiest way to set this up and then use it?

Thank you.

Opera already has a "To do" view under the "Labels" access point. Just drag a message or selection of messages to it or use the label drop-down in the message list or use the right-click "label as" option to apply the label to the messages.

To make messages in the "To do" label hidden from other views, right-click on the "To do" label, goto properties and then options. Then, check "hide these messages from other views". Then, other views won't show the messages unless those other views have "view -> show -> show hidden" checked.

You can also create your own labels and name them what you want.

The intro to Opera Mail (http://www.opera.com/mail/) says:

"Say goodbye to the old-fashioned inbox. Opera Mail replaces it with a view that shows all your unread messages. This is a useful way of collecting all messages you have not read yet. Once you have read a message, mark it as read and it will disappear from view. It remains in the Received view for you to access later, and also in any other relevant views or labels. Think of your Unread view as an email "to do" list."

You can go to the All Messages folder and click on the settings (wrench) icon. Select the Unread view to show a menu item that will show only messages in the All Messages folder that have not yet been marked read.

Alternatively, go to the main menu Tool>Appearance>Buttons>Mail View and add "Show Read" button to the Mail toolbar. That button will allow you to toggle between Received and Unread mail in the active account. And it will hold the last toggle position until changed.

Hope this is useful.
