Distribution List
Greetings,Does the Opera mail client have a way to make a distribution list? To be clear, what I am wanting to do is to set up a distribution list where I can send to several email address at once. Is this possible?
Thank you.
In the contacts panel, put the contacts you want in a folder. Then, click the drop-down next to the To, Cc or Bcc field on the compose tab, go into the folder and choose "add all contacts in folder".
The field will show a comma-separated list of all the addresses instead of just a single entry with the name of the folder, but otherwise, it's a distribution list.

But that won't send the messages one by one, will it?

It'll send a single message to the smtp server. The smtp server will look at the To, Cc and Bcc headers and decide who to send copies of the message to. It's the same as if you type the list of addresses in the field yourself and send the message.
Another way you can do it is create a single contact with multiple addresses. In the properties for the contact, add the first address to the email address field on the general tab. Then, add a comma-separated list of the rest of the email addresses on the notes tab. Then, on the general tab, put the name of the list in the name field. (If you add the full comma-separated list into the email address field, Opera will move all but the first to the notes tab for you.)
Then, when you choose the drop-down next to the To, Cc and Bcc fields, the contact will act like a folder where you can go into it and choose "add all contacts in folder". That will insert all the addresses with the name of the list before the first address.
I like the explicit folder way better though. But, it's up to you.
