Can not open pdf-files in opera

Hallo

Can you help mi in German, please:
I can not open directly a pdf-file on a homepage in opera (for example a pricelist). First i must press right mousebutton "verlinkten Inhalt speichern unter". After i can open in in the downloadfile.

Kann mir jemand auf deutsch antworten. Dieses Fachenglisch verstehe ich nicht gut.

Also wenn ich in Opera auf einer Homepage ein PDF-file (z.B. Preisliste) öffnen will, also einfach anklicke, dann bekomme ich nur einen leeren Bildschirm. Wenn ich es dann downloade mit der rechten Maustaste über "verlinkten Inhalt speichern als" dann kann ich es dann im Ordner öffnen.

Ich möchte aber das PDF gleich auf der Homepage öffnen können.

Wer kann mir weiterhelfen?

Opera does not have a built-in PDF-reader, so it relies on MIME types to open unsupported files correctly. If you go to Tools > Preferences (Ctrl+F12) > Downloads, then uncheck “Hide file types...” and search for “pdf”. Select “Open with other application”, select your PDF-reader (probably “Adobe Acrobat” if you haven't installed anything special).

I hope this fixes your issue. There is an issue with the way Opera handles MIME types, which I posted about here and here, but it doesn't look like devs are too interested. In short: It's possible to define PDF-files as a generic application/octet-stream, and Opera only looks at the MIME type and not the extension, which causes some problems.
