Can't open my hotmail using Opera browser
I have Opera's 11.51 build 1087 on Windows Vista and on one particular PC when I go to open up my Hotmail account, Opera will let me see initially my inbox but then it disappears and I don't see anything. Except for the folders listed on the left hand pane.Please note I have the same rev Opera browser and other of my Windows Vista PCs and NONE OF THEM HAVE THIS PROBLEM. I can open my hotmail account just fine.
What's going on? What could be preventing the opera on this particular machine from showing me my Hotmail inbox?

Hotmail doesn't officially support opera and there's often something that becomes incompatible for a while or doesn't work as intended.
For example, right now, I can't download attachements since about a week ago, it redirects me to the inbox instead.
Also, if I choose to return to the inbox after replying to an email, it redirects me to the the email instead.
From what you're telling, sounds like some kind of plugin or configuration is different on this computer and is breaking the interface(or hotmail got scared since you use Vista).
I suggest you check all your settings, starting with javascript like LeoCG suggested since it's the most likely culprit.

I just keep getting more depressed every time I update opera. Very old bugs not fixed, easy fix not made(talking about no option to disable image resize here), new "features" even more annoying than the last ones implemented and often poor compatibility with a lot of website.

use windows live mail, prob solved , or else use windows mail (updated outlook express) or another mail client ( my brother uses Thunderbird ) but I`ve had no probs using windows clients
Having same problem. Can sign in to but can not open mail. There seems to be many web sites I can not use with Opera. Toluna.com is one I can sign in there but can not do polls or watch video view pictures. For those of us that have not a clue as to the computer speak it seems Opera is not for use at all. I like the look and feel better than Fire fox and IE. But it looks like I must go back to one of them. Even yahoo will not open right. I do not wish to change my e-mail or go to live as the one person here said to do I have been with both for over 15 years. Opera needs one of those dummies books for old timers like me. If you can help in a non tech way please do. Thanks.

Have the same problem with Hotmail First time I log in with Opera 11.51, 11.52, 11.60 beta and Opera Next 12 1116.
Works only second time I log in to Hotmail. First time nothing happens when clicking on the message in inbox.
So I log in to Hotmail and sing out immediately. Than I log in again. Seems to work for 1.52, 11.60 beta and Opera 12 Next 1116.
I discovered, after changing lots of the preferences, that my NoAds Multilingual Extension was blocking my Hotmail. Disabling it cured the problem. Strangely, re-enabling it did not cause the problem to reoccur that is, until I log out and try to log back in to Hotmail at which point I have to disable the extension again to view my mails.
