Proxy not working when switched on via quick prefs

Hi,
Experiencing this since about 1-2 months with the latest snapshots. Newest one tested is build 1085.

  1. Create a proxy configuration, select "Use the same proxy for all protocols".
  2. Switch proxy usage off using F12 and back on using F12 -> Proxy now is not working anymore if you do not have also a SOCKS proxy.

Workaround: Go again into settings -> network -> proxy, open proxy settings, close without any changes (so it gets saved again). Then it works again.

Problem seems to be that "Use SOCKS" in settings below is set to 1 when switched on using F12, but is off when saving preferences via dialog:
[Proxy]
Use WAIS=0
Use Automatic Proxy Configuration=0
WAIS server
Automatic Proxy Configuration URL=
Enable HTTP 1.1 for proxy=1
HTTP server=localhost:8888
HTTPS server=localhost:8888
FTP server=localhost:8888
Gopher server=localhost:8888
Use GOPHER=1
Convert No Proxy Servers=0
Enable Proxy=1
SOCKS server=localhost:8888
Use HTTP=1
Use HTTPS=1
Use FTP=1
Use SOCKS=0 <<--- or 1 depending upon how proxy is activated

Not related to the newest snapshots. If I recall correct the bug was introduced with the addition of the SOCKS protocol. No big deal since manual configuration still works as it should.

Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death.
It doesn't matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle: when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.

So is this a known bug, or should I open up an entry for it?

I don't know if the bug is known. All I can tell you is that I took notice of it some time ago when I was testing Opera's SOCKS implementation.
