12.00 (1085) Fullscreen is broken

Just noticed that - when I switch to fullscreen, all I get is a window with no toolbars or anything, but still with the window frame (title bar and buttons). Can anyone confirm it?

Yep confirmed. Looks very weird; as if all Opera toolbars are hidden and the Windows taskbar is hidden.

Mentioned a couple of times in the blog too. The Window is not maximised, but restored. Maximising it does not get rid of the title bar either.

Oh just tested with Opera 11.51. However, this time Opera 12 is running in a window frame.

Sadly, this bug went on to the final version - I just saw that it exist in 11.61 (1234). As far as I remember, it's also in the most recent 12 build.

And now it can't be described as a regression in the blog comments :-/

Regression means it's a bug which had previously been fixed, but has returned. If it existed sometime before 12.00, had been fixed, and is back then it is still a regression. Mind you, if it hasn't been fixed since the last report you don't need to (and shouldn't) repost it with every single build.

Greetings ,

The Full screen Seems to be working fine for me in windows xp sp3 . the Build that I am using is Opera 12 Alpha build 1213 . and Opera 11.61 stable 1234 .

The one difference that I can think of is the resent clean install that I did on both copies . Which I think did correct that issue .

If you want to try that , here is a tool that the developers use that make a clean install easy to do . It is disco stu's Opera import & export tool here is the link.

Disco Stu's Opera import & export toll for the clean install

Note: be sure Opera is closed first when importing or exporting your stuff (bookmarks, mail, settings ,ect)

Also during the uninstall process when Opera ask do you want to delete private data , say yea . but be sure you have saved your stuff first p

It is good to do a clean install every once and a when if you have been doing alot of beta testing to get rid of the clutter wink

I hope this helps , If you still have the problem after a clean install it is a bug that needs to be reported

cheers!!

In the comment threads I've always seen them refer to regressions as only being between the latest release and latest development build. There's functionality that's stopped working in the past and is no longer considered a regression because it hasn't worked for a while.

For me, it's okay if a bug like this has been through several snapshots, but it is, not to say intolerable, but undesirable at the very least, to have such basic functionality broken in a build that's claimed to be final.
