[11.51] Two-line summary in message list (like Outlook)?
I prefer "list and messages on right" layout. How do I display two lines per message (like in this Outlook screenshot) in the list (center pane)?Originally posted by a303:
Where can I put a feature request for this?

I guess that would depend how they use it. Did it occur to you that some users might not display the subject column in the list since it is also shown on the message? Or maybe some users don't bother with the date, size, or labels, columns. Its quite easy to change the columns by right-clicking on the headings.
Personally, since I have a 1280x1024 monitor, I never use the message on the right view, but I am sure there are some users with 16:9 monitors who do.

LOL that's cute, 'click the message to see the subject line'.

LOL I... don't know what to say bro.
I do understand that maybe for people with 2650x1600|1440 resolutions (or 1920x1200|1080) might find the current implementation of "list and message on right" bearable, but I think you would agree that Outlook's implementation is wayyy better.

Anyways, thanks for your input guys, I am making a feature request and hope a dev looks upon it kindly (or at least responds why they can't/won't implement it).

And why not? If some unread messages just arrived, what would you do other than read them one by one in the order that they arrived? You cannot read the message until you select it, then the subject is shown in the message pane.

No, I wouldn't, and I don't think you will find many who would agree with you, but who really knows? After all, its only about ten years after Opera's mail client was introduced, and millions of users were happily using it as it is all this time.I think you would agree that Outlook's implementation is wayyy better
If you're feature request were so obvious an advanced search of the wish-list should reveal at least a couple of previous threads asking for this.
I found one from 2033.

Why do you think Outlook way is better than Opera's way? I really don't see a big difference.
