Split browsing
Hi there!I just want to suggest a new feature for the next Opera browser generation. I would like to be able to view 2 (or more) pages at the same time, in the same browser window. A split screen would do the trick, either horizontally or vertically. Tabs are great and the fact that you can see the content of every tabbed site is even better, but split browsing would allow for a much richer experience.
Cheers!
P.S. I searched a bit though the forum and this feature/idea didn't seem to pop out. I apologize if so, in which case I would really love to know how one can do this.
This request comes up regularly.
Split Drag the link to your address bar or another toolbar to create a button. Click to tile horizontally; click again to tile vertically. Click and hold to reload the page and remove the split.
You can navigate in each pane separately. The code can also be assigned to a keyboard shortcut or mouse gesture.

If you are on Windows or Linux (but not on Mac), the tab bar contains the 'Arrange' submenu which you can use to tile tabs. If you don't want to change all tabs but just the current one, use 'Restore' and then put the tab in the right spot. This old-style 'MDI' system is all rather cumbersome, so a more simple option to put two pages next to each other would be nice indeed.

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried now the first way (Split (H+V) button), and it seems to work indeed, but the fact that you cannot enter 2 separate addresses separately is a bit annoying. You can work your way around this (google -> split -> browse), but a more dynamic environment would be awesome.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Thanks for the Split Button. Quite useful. But this is a bit hidden for normal users.
Request 1: Make it more discoverable. Like on a Menu.
Request 2: Like the OP requested, I want 2 different web pages side by side. Even if I have 10 tabs open.
- Now that you can only buy wide format Monitors or Laptops (how idiotic), there is easily room for 2 web pages next to each other.
- Suggestion 1: Split the browser window. Have 2 sets of tabs.
- Suggestion 2: Like "Arrange> Tile Vertically" with just 2 chosen tabs. (But have no unwanted gap all round each page like Arrange.)
