This is the first time I doubt WIR (when it's ready). Because-
1. http://www.favbrowser.com/opera-12-brings-ragnarok-gpu-accelerated-graphics/
Although currently opera:gpu is a work-in-progress and opera:gpu page is only like a normal local webpage.
2. If you go to http://html5test.com/ , there scroll down till you find WebGL section. If you look at the WebGL section in Opera 11.51, then nothing is supported and score is 0/25. But if you look at Opera 12's latest build, then it scores 10/25, fully supporting Native Binary data.
That's a small progress on WebGL more or less. WebGL and HWA both will be in one release only. So if Opera 12 will contain WebGL, then HWA is also a must.
If you need any help from me with regards to Opera, please make a comment on any of my blog posts.
Support Opera wishes
Mind you, is anybody going to support all those video types, etc.?

OSLO--The next version of Opera Software's browser will get a major graphics-hardware boost, an approach that's been spreading to browsers keen to increase battery life, improve performance, and enable new features.
"Everything is accelerated," said Jan Standal, Opera's vice president of desktop products, in an interview today at the company's Up North Web press event here about Opera 12. "The whole user interface."
Specifically, that means hardware acceleration for Cascading Style Sheets transitions and animations, for Canvas 2D drawing, and for text, he said. And Opera 12 gets support for the WebGL 3D graphics technology--also hardware-acclerated.
I can't wait!
But in the past Opera has already released a version with hardware acceleration, but that's a very old build (Feb 2011)

Think Opera is keeping it a surprise
