Tab / Page Reloading - Hijack to Undesirable Sites?

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can confirm / explain / comment on something that happed to me recently. I was using Opera 11.51 with several tabs open, all relating to the nice innocent subject of problems with dog's paws. I left the PC for 10 minutes or so and when I returned I noticed that one of the middle tabs (which was not being displayed) had changed it's title. When I opened it I discovered it had changed to a porn site with a Youtube like appearance, with a vid of (I think) Paris Hilton about to whip her top off. It was titled something like "Top Ten Celebrity Sex Scandals", and came from an "RU" domain.

I'm assuming that it was some kind of page hijack / exploit which made use of the "reload" feature and associated metatag on the webpage itself.

I was running Panda Cloud AV at the time and have subsequently run every AV / Anti-Malware / Anti-Rootkit scan known to man and my system is clean, so I'm not thinking it was anything that resides on my Win7 PC.

I've never had that happen before, and I'd be very grateful if anyone could confirm if my understanding is right, and if so what I could do to prevent it happening again.

Sadly I didn't make a note of either the originating site or the porn site. D'Oh!

I had about 6 or 7 tabs open and I've tried to recreate the session from memory but I can't be sure I'm going to the same sites, and there has been no re-occurrence.

The only other thing I can add is that I can remember that the "back" button on the offending page was greyed out, which suggests (I think) that it was a reload rather than a redirect.

Sorry to be hopelessly vague - it kinda took me by surprise, and with a very agitated wife standing behind me waiting to perform a "Bobbit" on me for looking at porn it's fair to say that my mind was somewhat confused and I wasn't thinking to clearly!

Are you sure you didn't clicked somewhere in any of the tabs and that new tab was pop-up?

Couse, usually that's happens to me when I click link or ANYWHERE on "adult" sites. New tab is opened with some porn spam, and doesn't have back button (grayed out).

Not that I know all that...
