Paste & Go and Paste & Search buttons for main toolbar?
I've used the Paste and Go extension in Firefox for a few years as I often copy links from programs or text files and then enjoy being able to single-click a button in Firefox. Is it possible to create such buttons for Opera please? No and no need. Right-click in the address field, paste and go.

Unknown and yes need, right clicking introduces a second step in addition to the left click; the point of customization is that each individual can achieve their own individual goals in the minimal number of steps.
There's always some limits to customisation but this button will paste and go to whatever URL is on the clipboard. If its not a URL, it will do a default search.
Go
There is a Go button that you can put on the toolbar, but you will still need to paste the url first for that to work, so there's no gain to adding it other than familiarity for FF users.
There's another method in opera:config.
Enable that, then middle click on the tab bar to go to the URL.

It seems to be exactly what you asked for. What is different to the FF extension other than being easier to install, not needing updating, and not breaking when Opera updates?

I'm a half GUI and half keyboard/mouse kind of person. I tend to use whatever seems to cross my mind first / is physically easiest at that particular moment in time. Some times buttons in toolbars are easier or more convenient and sometimes a keyboard/mouse shortcut is. What matters to me is that an action should 1.) be simple and 2.) not take even modest mental resources away from what task I have my mind set on at that given moment in time.
